2026 Raleigh Run for Rare 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk The National MPS Society will host a timed 5K run and 1 mile walk, beginning at 9 AM on Saturday, March 28.  The 1 mile walk will begin at 9:05 AM.  Packet pickup and day of registration will open at 7:30 AM.  A picnic for attendees and volunteers will be held after the race! This event is open to individuals of all ages and abilities. Once you register, either as an individual or as part of a team, you are set. We would love to see the posts of pictures participants on their 5K route. This is completely optional – but since our goal is to bring awareness to MPS and ML, we want to do just that. The PTI 5k/10k Run on the Runway will take place on March 28, 2026, on the airport’s 9,000-foot parallel runway. This certified run benefits The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, Greensboro Urban Ministry, and Open Door Ministries of High Point. Everyone is invited to run or walk on the runway. The flat and smooth surface is ideal for achieving a personal best time, and the course is wheelchair accessible and baby stroller friendly. This event offers a unique opportunity to get a close-up view of the airport and runways, available only once a year. Due to the secure location and safety reasons, bikes, rollerblades, and inline skates are not allowed. Additionally, dogs and other pets are strictly prohibited.

The Ocho" 8 Hour Adv Race

MARCH 28th 2025   Hanging Rock State Park, North Carolina. Shelter at the lakeside parking lot. Disciplines: Hiking(6-8 miles), MTB biking(12-16miles) and a second hike(3-6miles) Hanging Rock is part of the Sauratown Mountains - the mountains away from the mountains. The park boasts the highest point in that system with Moore’s Knob at 2,579 feet elevation. The park has more than 20 miles of hiking trails that climb onto spectacular views and some lead to picturesque waterfalls. The single-track bike trails are challenging and enjoyable. This race has No intended water section on the course, so stay dry and come get your race season off to a great start!   The 8 hour race is designed for the beginner racer who wants a taste of the longer races but over a more manageable distance. Greater Goldsboro Road Run - Run for a Child

Experience one of the oldest road runs in North Carolina. Except for the 2020 year due to the pandemic, theevent has been held annually since 1979. Come be part of a running event with a long tradition and enjoy a runor walk on a USATF certified course primarily along streets lined with azaleas and dogwoods. Play it Forward, an inclusive initiative to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and community engagement, particularly for underprivileged youth in the Durham public school system. Weymouth Woods 25K/50K Trail Run

The Weymouth Woods 25k/50k will be held on April 4, 2026 at Weymouth Woods -Sandhills Nature Preserve. The race will be held on a course consisting of trails filled with roots and sand covered by a canopy of long leaf pine trees.  A well stocked aid station will be at the start/finish. This is a cupless event.  Runners must provide their own bottles, flasks, reusable cups, etc.  Runners will have plenty of room to set up small personal aid stations/chairs/drop bags if needed.
