Join us for the 5th Annual JPJ Memorial 1-mile Turkey Trot! The JPJ Memorial Turkey Trot is a timed 1-mile run/walk Thanksgiving morning through Moncus Park in memory of JeanPaul Judice. Our mission is to continue to spread JeanPaul’s unconditional love and desire to help those in need. We are happy to team up Catholic Charities of Acadiana to raise money for St. Joseph Diner. Since 1983, St. Joseph Diner has served meals to those experiencing hunger and food insecurity. This race is the perfect setting to come together on Thanksgiving to show gratitude with your community. Bring your family and friends together for a traditional run/walk/trot/waddle before taking on your Thanksgiving Feast! We welcome all stages of runners and walkers. This race will be timed and prizes will be awarded to the top three males and females. About Jean Paul.. JeanPaul lived the road less traveled. This included his love for the many things that go unappreciated in today's world, from noticing the daily beauty of sunrises and sunsets with his brothers to anticipating the extraordinary gifts of each new day. JeanPaul chose to live a life where love and happiness filled his heart, and anyone that ever met him would be impacted with a compassionate ear and positive kind words. He was passionate about changing our world, both physically and spiritually. He believed that his message of loving our world began with family and friends; but, he hoped that by spreading a message of unconditional love among his closest relationships, change would be rippled across the universe starting from a place deep in his heart. In our superficial world, he was a young man of immense substance. He knew that every person mattered and he loved them unconditionally.

24-Hour Walk/Run for Water Event Information Join us for the 24-Hour Walk/Run for Water, an event where every mile helps bring clean water to communities in Honduras. Whether your goal is one lap, a marathon, or the full 24-hour challenge, everyone is welcome. Walk, run, take breaks, camp overnight, and return to the course as often as you'd like. This event is designed for all fitness levels and encourages participants to challenge themselves while supporting an incredible cause. Event Details Date: Saturday, November 28, 2026 Time: 12:00 PM (Noon) – Sunday, November 29, 2026, at 12:00 PM (Noon) Location: North Bossier Park Bossier City, Louisiana The Course Participants will complete as many laps as they choose during the 24-hour event. The course is designed to be easy to navigate, making it ideal for runners, walkers, families, and relay-style support crews. It is a 1.35 mile paved loop. You may: Start at noon or arrive later. Join us in the challenging Louisiana National Guard Norwegian Foot March on 12 DEC 2026. The Norwegian Foot March originated in 1915 as an endurance test for soldiers in the Norwegian Army. It has since been adopted at several U.S. military installations. Completion demonstrates physical endurance, mental toughness, and military readiness. The march requires participants to complete a 30-kilometer / 18.64-mile course while carrying a rucksack with a dry weight of at least 25 pounds, weighed both before and after finishing. Time requirements for completion vary by age and gender and determine eligibility for the Norwegian Foot March badge. A minimum of three water points will be used along the route. The 6th Annual DeRidder Back Roads Not-So-Typical Half Marathon is coming up, and we’re excited to bring this race back to our community for another year! Come take a back roads tour through the beautiful, historic countryside of DeRidder. No heavy traffic. No red lights. It's never too early to start thinking ahead! We're starting 2027 the only way we know how, with a race! After you ring in the New Year, take a nap then come out, and join us and RUN (or walk) into the New Year! We're putting on the New Year's Day 5K and New Year's Day Half Marathon. We thought it would be appropriate to kiss 2026 goodbye, and are offering the New Year's Day 5K or New Year's Day Half Marathon for just $27! We will be starting at 9:00 am at Walker Place Park in Bossier City and running alongside the river on the Arthur Ray Teague running/walking trail. Hundred milers in a State Park or NWR have been done to death! This race is the "fly in the ointment" of Ultra running. You decide where you're going to run and when. This is a choose-your-own adventure race. Texas is gorgeous! Get out and explore it! This race allows you to travel the state and experience the beautiful trails and wild areas unique to Texas. You must run in 3 different regions of Texas. You have 48 hours to complete the challenge and must experience 5 trails. (Each trail represents a point on the Star. Ideally, you could connect the dots between trailheads to form a STAR.) I've identified 30 trails that are pre-approved to utilize during the race. I've also identified 7 unique regions within the state. Complete the challenge with a crew, friends, or solo. The S.O.L. is a do-it-yourself, self-guided, self or team supported 100 mile adventure. For the month of October, November and December in 2026; runners are invited to explore the beautiful trails of TEXAS. This choose-your-own-adventure race is a unique virtual event. Runners are asked to run 100 Miles on 5 TEXAS trails (S.O.T. because a star has 5 points) in 3 different regions of Texas, in 48 hours. Many folks can run a hundred in 24-32 hours, add in the logistics of travel, and nutrition and sleep and the time those things take...it gets more difficult. 100 miles in one location has been done to death! I, the RD, will provide a list of 25 approved trails to choose from. Athletes must submit a general plan and provide evidence of completion in the form of Strava, Coros, or Garmin data. *Runners would be wise to upload their data from watch to phone with wi-fi. I'd hate to see your event spoiled by a run getting wiped! Yes, you will get a BUCKLE and a t-shirt upon completion! (Mailed after you complete.) You may not complete the challenge prior to registering for the challenge. That's bogus! All of your submitted data must be recorded AFTER your registration date. If you're looking for a different type of ultra and would like to test yourself physically and mentally, this is the event for you! Rules: Runners must use the approved trails or submit a trail IF it's not on the list. Runners can start at any time of day but must complete the quest within 48 continuous hours. Runners may run in State Parks, WMA's, Corp. of Engineers Property, Parish Parks, National Forests, Rails to Trails trails, etc. as long as it is legal to do so. Private Property not allowed. Trails encouraged, gravel roads in National Forests will be considered as long as it's smaller percentage of your total run. Runners must pay park fees when necessary and follow the park rules and guidelines. Runners will travel between trails on their own dime. Ubers, shuttles, friends, spouses, etc. are allowed to transport the runner as well as your own vehicle of course. Runner may sleep between trails while in transit unless they are the driver. (duh.) Runners may sleep during their run or at a trailhead- follow best practices and the rules of the facility. Runners must run at least 1 trail in each of the THREE regions. I've identified 7 regions of Texas- 1. The Panhandle 2. Praries and Lakes 3. Piney Woods 4. Gulf Coast 5. South Texas 6. Hill Country 7. Big Bend YOU PICK 4 REGIONS! Runners accept the responsibility of researching the trails and ensure proper procedures are in place for hydration, nutrition, safety, extraction, lights, charging of equipment, etc. Part of the journey is doing the research and preparation. Runners may incorporate an existing race or Ultra into the mix but....said Ultra may not be longer than a 50k. (Runner pays for the Ultra) Runners may not exceed more than 50k on any single trail. (For example: No 60 mile trail and then 4 ten mile trails.) Runner must submit the Garmin, Strava, Coros, data to the RD upon completion. FB posts will also be good supporting evidence. Runners must be aware of hunting seasons and take reasonable precautions. Wearing Orange, taking precautions, running during non-hunting hours, being courteous to hunters. Starting the new year off strong with a walk or your way back into shape.  Looking forward to another night trail run starting at 6PM through the single track mtb trail or the paved Soda lake loop route.  This is a great way to get ready for that ultra you've been training for or just want to change it up from early saturday morning start times.   Single Track MTB trail is TBD with all of the new trails being built, we just can't decide where the race route will take you yet.  Trail is typically rolling with very little roots or debris.   Soda lake loop is our beginner friendly route around 4.5 miles but paved the whole way for those unsure about footing or it being dark.  Grab your buddy and lets go! Head Lamps are recommended but a light source of some kind is mandatory in order to run the race. Working on some overall prizes and a few items to raffle off to anyone with a bib number along with a good meal to eat after you finish.

US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel.
