This popular rural tradition will once again be held at the Alert Covenant Church, 15820 Green Randolph Road in Leonardville, Kansas--Rain or Shine! (It's Kansas--be prepared for both!)  Come for the friendly competition and fellowship, stay for the post-race breakfast provided by the Alert Ladies! All Proceeds from this event will help offset the cost of Alert Youth Camper Registrations at Covenant Cedars Bible Camp this summer!This year's event includes 10K, 5K and 1 Mile races. Run For The Paws 5k and 1 mile run benefits the animals at the Wellington Humane Society. The Wellington Humane Society is 501(c) non-profit that serves Sumner County, Kansas. We are a no kill shelter that opened to the public in December 2019. Our mission is to take in unwanted animals and find them loving, permanent homes. We receive no city or county funding, and rely solely on donations to care for the animals at our shelter. All proceeds from this run goes towards providing food and medical care for those currently living at the shelter while they await their forever home.  The 5k will begin at 7:30am and the 1 mile will begin at 8:30am on June 21, 2025 Both races will be held at the Wellington Humane Society, 203 W Hillside. The Overbrook Community 5K Run & Walk will take place at the Overbrook Lake on Friday, July 4th starting at 8 a.m. *Park at the Overbrook baseball diamonds. The Tour die Kapellen (Tour of the Chapels) was organized in 2019 as a joint venture between four rural communities in the Ellis County area along with members of the Hays Symphony and Hays Convention and Visitors Bureau. Through the efforts of volunteers from Hays Area Bicyclists, Catherine, Victoria, Pfeifer, Munjor, Schoenchen, Antonino, Walker and the Fort Hays State Music Department, the event has become a popular, uniquely supported, organized cycling ride. The event celebrates the Volga-German heritage in the Ellis County area, as riders visit historic limestone churches, experience the ethnic culture, and listen to professional musicians at each venue – all through a commute on cycle. The solitude of the open, rural terrain is an added bonus for anyone hoping to escape a hectic, daily routine. The small town, midwest friendliness is unforgettable to all visiting Ellis County. In 2022, the Bus Tour was added to accommodate the non-cyclists traveling to Hays.

This is the 19th year for the United Way of McPherson County Triathlon, held at McPherson Water Park and Lakeside Park in McPherson, Kansas.  Nicknamed by one racer as "The Fastest Short Course in Kansas," the United Way Triathlon starts with a 200-meter swim, followed by a 7-mile bike and finishing with a 2-mile run.   There is also a Junior Triathlon for youth with a 100-meter swim, 1 mile bike, and 1-mile run.    Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26th, 2026.

Join us and beat the heat this summer at our Midnight Run 5K/10K for Special Olympics. This event is presented by the Leawood Police Department, a participating agency in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Kansas, and features a fast course through the streets of Leawood. Your participation will help raise money for Special Olympics and finishers in both the 5K and 10K Run/Walk will receive a custom finishers medal! Join local Kansas City USAT and Ironman coaches for a one-of-a-kind clinic that will prepare you to conquer the dam hill on August 2nd. The clinic will cover all aspects of the Shawnee Mission Triathlon & Duathlon with a short open water swim session, riding the bike course, running the run course, and opportunities to work on transitions.  All participants need to bring their own tow buoy in order to participate in the open water swim portion of the clinic.

Join us face to face OR virtually for the 32nd Annual JW Tiger 5K!   As a fundraiser for our Cross Country team, we have held a 5K race every year for the past 32 years!  This year, you can come RUN THIS TOWN or run YOUR town.    This gives you all the opportunity to join us as we celebrate the wonderful rush of finishing a 5K and you will be helping us raise the money we need to purchase food, snacks, drinks and equipment for our Cross Country team!   We will medal top 3 in each age group as well as special pottery for top 3 male and female runners provided by Mark Ralston, retired Art teacher.

The 11th Annual Rexy Run/Walk is back on August 15th, 2026! We will be offering our 5K and NEW 10K course. The Rexy Run/Walk begins and ends at Broken Arrow Park, a picturesque city park, in southeast Lawrence and will wind through the Baker Wetlands on a combination of paved concrete trails and fine gravel trails. The Rexy Run is stroller and dog friendly.The Rexy Run is hosted by BabyJay's Legacy of Hope, a 501C based out of Lawrence that helps families with children who are fighting cancer. Celebrating 48 years, the annual Bonner Springs Rotary Club Tiblow Trot 5-mile run, 5K run/walk and 2K (1.24 miles) fun walk, takes place during Tiblow Days, Bonner Springs' largest annual community festival. All funds raised go toward Bonner Springs High School scholarships, the Rotary’s Polio Plus Program to end Polio worldwide and other Rotary causes.  The race begins at the intersection of 3rd Street and Oak Street in Bonner Springs. Join us for our 8th annual Sunflower Trail Run!  This unique 5K and 1 Mile course will immerse participants in more than 20 acres of gorgeous sunflowers!  Runners, joggers and walkers will follow the dirt trails through the sunflower field to the finish line!  Pictures and info also available on our website at kansasmaze.com! Join us for this event in rain or shine as participants get the chance to run the obstacle course and compete in other Raider events. Old clothes that can get dirty are encouraged.  Every year the cadet’s High School JROTC Raider program hosts their Mini Raider Boot Camp for students to get a taste of what it is to be a JROTC Raider. Mini Raider Boot Camp participants will take part in: Physical Training Exercises Running and Climbing Coordination/Cooperation Building Exercises Building Listening Skills Following Leadership Directions Traversing a One-Rope Bridge Obstacle Course Hiking “It’s simply amazing to see the kids work so hard and have the time of their life!”   The Boot Camp is put on by JROTC cadets from Leavenworth High School under the direction of 1SG Wayne Cogdill and Coach Edwards. Join us for fifth annual 5K-9 & Family Fun Run! Following the De Soto Days festival, this family and fur-friendly event is being presented by the local rescue Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary. Come out to see some adorable adoptable dogs, get some fun exercise, and help make a difference in the lives of homeless pups in need! Each human registrant will receive a bib with official timing and post-race snacks. There will be snacks and water for the doggos too! Both the 5K Race and Family Fun Run will begin at 8 am. More details regarding the race will be sent via email the week of the race. Your pup is allowed to join you for the race at no additional charge. Leawood Rotary Labor Day 5K: Join us this Labor Day, Monday September 7, 2026 for the Leawood Rotary Labor Day 5k, Leawood Rotary’s annual charity fund-raiser. All net proceeds go to local and international charities.  The race will start & finish at American Academy of Family Physicians, 11400 Tomahawk Creek Parkway, Leawood, Kansas. Racers will enjoy hundreds of acres of nature, hiking, and biking trails, as well as beautifully preserved prairie grasslands. The park sits on the western edge of Johnson County, known to its most avid patrons as the "gem" of western Johnson County. The race will happen rain or shine, so ensure you are prepared for any type of weather. Looking for a little adventure? Check out the 2-hour race that is all on foot (TREKKING ONLY) and open to solos and teams. Have a bike and ready to crush the mountain bike trails? Check out the 6-hour race that will have racers trekking, biking, and paddling their way through the park. The team that completes all the checkpoints (or more than other teams) with the fastest time will win the race.  2-hour racers will trek to all of their checkpoints and may encounter a few extra challenges along the way. The Patriots Run was founded in 2002 in the wake of the September 11th terrorist attacks on America. The purpose of this multi-race event is to thank and honor all who serve; our military, fire, police, first responders, and their families. It is a race created by patriots, for patriots, supporting those who daily sacrifice for the freedom and safety we enjoy in our great country. Proceeds from the Patriots Run will provide Folds of Honor scholarships to families of fallen or disabled service members.

The Road Home race is a fundraiser for Passageways.  We work with homeless veterans and help them get back on their feet and into a place of their own.  We have hosted a 5K and 1-mile fun run for the last 8 years.  In recent years, we added a 10K, as well.    All races will start and end at the Plum building inside Sedgwick County Park.  This is a USATF-certified race, and the Timer Guys will do the timing.  The routes will be posted closer to the race, as will the schedule for the day.   Passageways Road Home is a very patriotic race with flags lining a good portion of the race route.  We also will have a Presentation of Colors and Singing of the National Anthem before the start of the race.  Your race bib will include a name of a fallen military hero, currently serving military member, or a veteran.  During registration, you will be given the option to list a name you would like on your bib.   Schedule of the DAY: 7AM - Registration 730:   1 Mile Fun Run Starts 7:50: Presentation of
