15th Annual RUN for your LUNGS! Jackie's Run for Life @ Lake Blackshear Resort in Cordele GA!  This is a Clover & Black Bag Event, and raises awareness for the deadliest cancer of all cancers, Lung Cancer.  We are our own 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to helping folks in our area struggling with the disease.  Each participant receives a GREAT long sleeve T-shirt, goody bag, lunch & beverages (beer for 21 & up!!) after the run!!!  Thursday 10/30 Packet Pick up will be at Austins Fire Grill on Old Dawson Road in Albany from 4-6 PM,  Friday Oct 31st @ Cypress Grill from 4-6 PM at Cypress Gill and you can also get your packet on Saturday morning Nov 1st. Experience this exclusive opportunity to race on one of the flattest – and fastest – courses in metro Atlanta! Registration is limited to the first 2,000 participants. This is a USATF-certified 5K course and therefore an AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier. The proceeds from the race will benefit the Mayor’s Youth Scholarship Program and United Way of Greater Atlanta. RACE INFORMATION: All participants receive a commemorative T-shirt and medal upon completion of the race.There is limited space for participants to warm up or stretch before and after the event.Walkers are encouraged to walk to the right, allowing runners to pass on the left.Participants must be ages 10 and older. For the sixth consecutive year, our annual 5K Run/Walk will bring together survivors, caregivers, families, community leaders, and supporters from across Metro Atlanta to honor those impacted by cancer and raise critical funds to support our mission. The mission of the Every Color Matters Cancer Awareness Foundation is to educate communities about cancer prevention and early detection while providing financial assistance, resources, and support to families currently battling all forms of cancer. Over the past decade, our organization has provided nearly $400,000 in funding, services, and resources to cancer patients and their families, ensuring they feel seen, supported, and valued throughout their journey. This event offers two race options: 5K Race – perfect for runners looking for a challenging course and a One Mile Fun Run/Walk for families, walkers, and younger participants. 5K in Honor of Renard Jayson Neal Jr. Join us for a heartfelt 5K celebrating the life, spirit, and enduring legacy of Renard Jayson Neal Jr.: a cherished firefighter, son, brother, friend, mentor, and source of inspiration to so many. Renard lived with courage, compassion, and a deep commitment to serving others. This event is an opportunity for family, friends, fellow firefighters, and the entire community to come together, share in his memory, and carry forward the values he embodied. Every mile will be a tribute to the difference Renard made and the love he continues to inspire. In partnership with the College Park Fire Department, this donation-based event will support the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation, an organization that provides vital assistance to burn survivors and their families. By participating, you help extend Renard’s legacy of service and compassion to others in need. Register in advance to reserve your spot. Your race t-shirt will be provided at check-in. Since it is a GOAT Run, we will bring back the hill that only goats would love.  Registration: No shirt preregistration price $14. Proceeds from this event benefit the East Georgia Cancer Coalition (EGCC), an Athens-based nonprofit dedicated to providing free cancer prevention education, support services, wellness programs, and care packages for individuals in active treatment. North American Canicross presents STEEPLECHASE STAMPEDE! Come join us November 8th at the Georgia International Horse Park for our In-Person CANICROSS RACE! Held at the prestigious Georgia International Horse Park, renowned as the site of The 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, this event is not to be missed! 5k and 10k course is classified as a technical trail running race. Participants should be prepared for uneven terrain, elevation changes, and natural features such as roots, rocks, and narrow paths. There will be 1 water / aid station on the course. Registered children under 15 will need to run with a registered adult. 10k RACE IS 2 LAPS SPRINT Distance : 1.25 miles TRI-HOUND CROWN! Complete all three distances and earn the prestigious Tri-Hound title! The Tri-Hound Crown is designed as a team event between dog(s) and human. The dog you start with must be the same dog you complete the entire challenge with across all distances. Competitors in the 2-Dog Tri-Hound Crown must race with two dogs in all events.Competitors in the CaniX Tri-Hound Crown must race with one dog in all events.Tri-Hound Crown Competitors will start with the 10K events. The required sequence is: 10K → 5K → Sprint Important: If you register in the 2-dog class but decide to drop a dog during the event at any distance, you will still be classified as a 2-dog competitor based on your original registration. Final Results: The final time for the Tri-Hound Crown will be the combined total of all individual event finish times. If you do not wish to run all three distances, you may register for one or two individual events. However, this will not qualify you for the Tri-Hound Crown. Additionally, If you are interested in running with different dogs, you will need to register for each race individually Dog-Friendly Trail Race: New to canicross or training a pup? Join us for the Dog-Friendly Trail Race class right after the competitive canicross event! Dog-Friendly 5K requirements will be less restrictive; however, face leads, flexi/retractable leashes, and no-pull harnesses are not allowed. Limit of 2 dogs per participant at a time. VIRTUAL RUNNERS!: Can’t join us on race day? No problem! We’ve got a virtual option for you! Virtual racers complete the course on their own time and turf. Run, jog, or walk the distance from anywhere and submit your results online. It’s a great way to be part of the event no matter where you are! You’ll have until November 30th to complete your run and submit your results. Each runner will receive a logo race T-shirt and finisher challenge coin! Registering for multiple events? Additional Race Logo swag will be available for purchase in the NACC Shop. CANICROSS REQUIREMENTS All dogs running in canicross are required to wear designated canicross gear. Harnesses that have “Y” chest bands and do not restrict the dogs movement, bungee lead 4' - 6’ ft attached to a hands free waist belt must be worn for those running in the canicross class. Only one dog can be run at a time, unless in the 2-Dog Canicross Class or Dog Friendly Class. 2- Dog Canicross Class Gear Requirements: IFSS rules for 2-dog class require single split bungee line with neck line. Though we are not sanctioned by IFSS we will be following the international standard for a 2 dog class. RULES & REGULATIONS: No transfers, refunds or deferments allowed. All dogs entering the event are required to be up to date on vaccinations as recommended by Georgia state veterinary guidelines and must be in good health, free from injury or illness that could compromise their welfare or the safety of others. Although this is a dog event, we have a “NO GREET” POLICY. Dogs must be kept on a leash and under owner/handler’s control at all times both in the parking lot and event area. Dogs should NOT interact with other dogs or humans while attending our event. MUZZLES are allowed and can be worn on course as long as the dog has ample room for panting. Weather Contingency Plan : The race committee feels that aside from a particularly extreme weather event the race should be able to proceed as planned. However, in the event that conditions prevent the race from proceeding as planned, the first alternative will be to delay the start of the race until the weather event has cleared the area. The second alternative option is to convert the race to virtual if there is no way to continue as planned. Medical response plan: In planning the event, the Race Directors have considered a full spectrum of incidents and injuries that may occur. The nature of dog friendly and canicross racing requires competitors to be cognizant of their own and their dog’s needs. Additionally, it requires emergency response planning which addresses both human and canine potential issues. Competitors will be allowed to carry their own cellular devices on course to call for help if race personnel is not within sight. Additionally, all race personnel will be required to carry a cellular device at all times while on race grounds. Safety Briefings: Competitor Briefing: Participants will be briefed prior to the race start. Race brief will include course details, known hazards, race rules, and emergency procedures. In the event of a minor injury to a human competitor, participants are to locate an aid station volunteer to seek access to first-aid care. In the event of a significant injury to a human competitor, participants are to use their phone to contact 911 or reach out to the nearest course official or aid-station volunteer. In the event of an injury to a canine competitor, participants are to work with the vet volunteer on-site to determine appropriate next steps. Race brief will include course details, known hazards, race rules, and emergency procedures. In the event of a minor injury to a human competitor, aid station volunteers will be able to offer access to first-aid care. In the event of a significant injury to a human competitor, volunteers will be advised to contact 911. Volunteers will also be advised to watch competitors as they pass aid stations to check for signs of potential medical issues. In the event of an injury to a canine competitor, volunteers will instruct competitors to work with the vet volunteer on-site to determine appropriate next steps.

When the sun starts to set and the city air cools, lace up for a race that’s anything but unlucky. Friday the 13K is an evening MEET UP! on the Atlanta Belt Line. Offering a fairly flat course that’s perfect for chasing a PR or simply enjoying a spirited night run with fellow athletes. WHOA!!! This is definitely somethign different! Part Virtual - Part Live Event! You run your 6.5K or 13K on your own (when ever you want); then come by the "Finish Line/Party" between 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm and collect all your swag. That's right...Finisher Medal, Race Shirt, Bib, and...Age Group Awards (but ya gotta finish before 6:30 pm on Meet Up Day so we have results for those age group awards). We'll have a good time, photo back drop, music, and all the swag! Runners will take on the 13K distance under the evening sky and earn a custom finisher medal the moment they cross the finish line. Competitive spirits can go all out for awards, with the top three men and women recognized in the usual five-year age groups.
