You may remember a little race from years long gone called the Red Fox Run. This race took place at F.D. Roosevelt State Park and it was a hit! Well, we are bringing it back. Imagine that you are standing by the beach in the morning, and the sky has hints of pink and orange. The waves are calm and then, you see some spots in the blue water. A plastic bag was moving as if it was a jellyfish. Bottles and caps were mixed in with shells and other natural sources. Millions of plastic waste ends up in oceans every year and has no sign of stopping. Some information seems outlandish, but its true nonetheless. Animals may try and eat the plastic and end of sick or even worse, die. The race for no ocean pollution shows that you haven't given up on helping the ocean. The TKCA Run-Walk is a family fun event. It’s dedicated to helping change destinies through effective fellowship that will improve the well-being of all connected to the church and its surrounding community. We are committed to creating an environment for people to enjoy wholeness in all areas of their lives. Proceeds will help to offset the cost of supporting all our mission outreaches, free clinics, clothing drives, homeless shelters and to support the expansion of Gods Kingdom in our environment. This year, UGA's Pre-Veterinary Club will be supporting the 501(c)(3) organization, Athens Pets. The money raised from this 5K will assist with the extraordinary medical expenses of shelter animals and spay/neuter fund.
