Come run/walk/jog the 'sweet' trails of Giddings Park in Franklin, CT on 5/2, National Truffle Day!  This chocolate truffle themed 5K race is open to all ages. (Dogs are welcome!)  In addition to the all ages race, there will also be a "Mini Chocolate Chip" 800 meter (.5 mile) fun run for kids 12 and under.  The kids fun run will start at 9:00am with the 5K Trail Run following at 9:30am. Bib pick up will be on race day only and is located at Giddings Park from 7:45am to 9:00am.  Same day registration is available; credit card only.  All 5K finishers receive a custom designed medal.   Register by 4/17/26 for early bird pricing of $30 for the 5K.  After 4/17/26, price increases to $35. 5K course is three loops around the trails of Giddings Park with one large hill each loop.  Total elevation gain is 235ft.   Awards for Overall Male and Female finishers.  Additionally, prizes will be awarded for male and female age division winners.   Bib pick up and race location: 191 Pon

Proudly Presented by SmartStart Pediatrics along with support from Fleet Feet Glastonbury, The Glastonbury River Runners offer this 9 week training program (no session May 24- Memorial Day Weekend) to encourage youth ages 4 to 13 to get up and move!  Let us help your child reach the goal of completing a 5K (3.1 miles) and have a great time doing it! Through this program, we are here to offer your child support, motivation and fun along the way!  Practices will begin promptly at 4 p.m. on Saturdays at the Smith Middle School Track (216 Addison Rd, Glastonbury, CT 06033). As many of you may already know, a valued member of our Nonnewaug school community, Jon Cheung, was recently diagnosed with Leukemia.  Just as he always has done in the classroom, on the sports fields, and in life, Jon is giving his all in this fight and the whole community is behind him.  Our chapter of the Math Honor Society, of which Jon is a member want to show support and help raise funds to assist with the medical costs that his recover process involves so that him and his family can focus their attention on his health.  To that end, we have planned a charity 5K walk/jog/run on Nonnewaug's campus for the 23rd of May.  We hope you will show your support by signing up and enjoying a fun race with music, games, food, and more.  If you have any questions, please email rrobillard@ctreg14.org or text 860-605-3730.   The race will be hand timed by our students and results will be posted afterwards.

Lift for Kindness is a team-based weightlifting fundraiser built around lifting each other up. Participants will complete weightlifting challenges as individuals and teams.Donations may be pledged per pound lifted, per participant, per team, or across multiple pledges. All proceeds supports kindness, mental health awareness, and youth-focused anti-bullying programs.

The Dustin L. Doyon Memorial Road Race is being held on Saturday May 23, 2026 at Suffield Middle School. All money raised will go towards a scholarship fund in Dustin's name. The 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run starts at Suffield Middle School and is a down and back course on Hill Street (ending again at the Middle School). The race begins at 9:25 am. These races will be timed with prizes awarded. For more information see the webpage link above. Bib pick up and day of registration will take place between 7:45 and 9:00am at the Middle School.

3.5 mile Race Around New Hartford's Gorgeous West Hill Lake

Join us for the Newtown Savings Bank Mile Down the Pike, a one mile road race.  The route proceeds down Monroe Turnpike along the Monroe Memorial Day parade route AFTER the roads close, but before the parade begins.  A swift mile downhill, this event is on the same route as the Monroe Memorial Day parade.  Enjoy a quick mile race starting at Firemen's Field and ending at Elm Street and Cross Hill intersection.  Be cheered on as the crowds gather for the parade.  Don't miss this fun event!  You should be able to do a mile in 15 minutes or less to sign up for this race.  THIS IS A TIMED ROAD RACE. Race will be held rain or shine.  In the event the parade is cancelled, the race will be moved to an alternate location.  In the event of severe weather the race will be cancelled.  No refunds will be issued in the event of cancellation or change in location.  Any changes based on inclement weather will be made by 10:15am on race day and communicated via email and social media to all re
