About the Event Before you get stuffed, join us Thanksgiving morning for a 2 or 4.2 mile walk or run that benefits local Montrose schools. Strollers and well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. This Montrose tradition is fun for the whole family! Start line: Both races start and finish in the east parking lot of Oak Grove Elementary School in Montrose. Registration: online registration preferred but race-day registration will be available from 8:00am to 8:45am. The Pagosa Turkey Trot is a 5k Walk/Run starting at Yamaguchi Park at 10:00 am on November 26th. Come run and burn off some calories before you head to your Thanksgiving feast. This is a fun event for all fitness levels. Whether you are a competitive runner, a beginner, or just want something fun to do with the family before you eat, this is a great event for you. 2026 RACE DETAILS: Hello Turkey Trotters. Welcome to our 2026 Thanksgiving Day event, a race that has become one of our community's greatest Thanksgiving traditions. This race/fun run/walk has proven to be such a special day for friends, families and visitors and benefits the Steamboat Springs High School Track & Field and Cross Country programs. The Turkey Trot is a 5K course that starts and ends at Steamboat Springs High School, traveling to beautiful Strawberry Park and back. Dress in your cold weather running gear or even a Thanksgiving Day costume. Who: Runners, walkers, competitive adaptive, strollers, burly trailers, and leashed dogs on race course. This is an out and back course so distances may be shortened for any children and/or athletes with special considerations.Just let the race directors know so we can modify results. Wheelchair access is available to all facilities involved in the race. Note: No dogs allowed in the high school. Please leave outside when you pick up bibs. Celebrate Thanksgiving weekend and the lighting of Christmas Mountain in Salida with a 5 mile and 1 mile race!  The 5 mile course begins and ends by Riverside Park in downtown Salida. Race course is very scenic and mostly flat (around 160 feet of elevation gain) and takes place on city and county roads and gravel or concrete pedestrian paths. Chase the turkey through downtown Estes Park before finishing at the Estes Park Event Center, where you can watch the parade floats pass by one final time. The Tardy Turkey Trot is a brand-new, family and stroller-friendly 5K. Gather your flock and join us for a holiday run before the parade. Participants will receive a Tardy Turkey Trot beanie, wearable lights and post-race food. Downtown parking is expected to fill quickly, but free seasonal shuttles will run throughout the day. The Human Potential Running Series Presents: The Sawmill Trail Runs @ Staunton State Park The Sawmill Trail Runs; first started as a “Fat Ass” event at White Ranch Open Space in Golden, CO in December 2013. We incorporated it into an official trail race starting in December 2017. In 2021, this event was moved to its new home at Staunton State Park in Pine, CO featuring 50k, 16-Mile, and 8-Mile distance options.  Staunton State Park is a gem within Colorado’s State Park system. From high grassy meadows at 8,100 feet to soaring granite cliffs over 10,000 feet, Staunton State Park’s varied geology, soils, water features, and climate support rare and unexpected plant communities and a rich diversity of wildlife and provide a myriad of outdoor recreation opportunities. It's our 40th Anniversary Race!  Choose the 13.1 or the 5k!  December 6th, 2026: 8:30am at Pueblo City park pavilion, 801 Goodnight Ave. 81005 It is exciting to bring you another exquisite day of racing alongside the scenic Arkansas River! This is a fast course that starts in Pueblo's City Park then you quickly drop down to the scenic river trail, where you will be encompassed with nonstop gorgeous terrain and scenery. This smooth path will lead you along the river with kayakers and wildlife galore. You will hit some dirt trails as you head west to our Nature Center and then swoop around the corner to an open field where deer are usually always in sight. The Jingle Jog will be the final leg of the 2025 YMCA 5K Race Series. We are a go for race #2!!! See you on the 15th! Sunlight Mountain  and Cripple Creek Backcountry are teaming up again to bring the Moonlight Race Series back for the 2025/26 season! We couldn't be more excited to to bring the uphill community together for 4 nights of type A fun!  Racers will have the option each night to race on a long or short course with multiple fast accents and downhills. The two courses will be the same for all four races(snow willing) so participants can see their progression in fitness, skinning, skiing and transitions throughout the season. Come out to push your own best time or just move casually with friends. We all know that we try a little harder when that bib is strapped on so come out and get your suffer fun on! There will be schwag, beers and hot chocolate waiting for you at the finish line! All racers are required to have a headlamp and a helmet. The Resolute Runner 5K is the KICK OFF PARTY OF THE YEAR! It's time to be RESOLUTE, to retroactively earn your pumpkin pie and chocolate truffles, and to start the new year on the right foot, literally! The course starts at Johnny Roberts Memorial Park in Arvada, CO, and winds through the beautiful Ralston Creek Trail. It really is quite a scenic race! As you run, all of your fans will be able to see you from the start line, then walk less than 1/3 of a mile to see you at two different points before cheering on your finish. Welcome back to Norris-Penrose Events Center / Bear Creek Park! Jan 1, 1979, the Rescue Run Start/Finish was at Norris-Penrose Events Center. In 1995, we moved the Rescue Run to Palmer Park. In 2021, due to the Covid Pandemic we held a Virtual Rescue Run. For the 2022 event, we took the course back to its roots at Norris-Penrose. But rather than run on the streets as we did in the 80's and 90's, we run on the trails of Bear Creek Park East. As the first Denver-area half marathon of the year, this event features 5K, 10K, and half marathon courses that meander along the Van Bibber Creek Trail, offering breathtaking views of Arvada's open spaces and Table Mountain.
