Welcome to our 3rd Annual Friends of the Poor® Walk.  While our parishioners generously support these efforts year-round, this walk provides an opportunity for the broader community to help.  This event is a vital fundraiser dedicated to raising funds for individuals and families in need of assistance with utilities, gas, water, rent, and other essential needs due to job loss, health, or other hardships. All funds help anyone in the Manor Community.   Walk in person or walk virtually.  After the walk join us for fun, fellowship and breakfast.  Check in starts at 8:00 AM and the walk starts at 8:30 AM.  At 9:30 AM door prizes begin. On 3–4 Oct 1993 U.S. Army Rangers of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, as part of Task Force Ranger, fast-roped into the city of Mogadishu, Somalia to capture key lieutenants of warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid. What began as a short raid quickly escalated when Somali militia shot down two Black Hawk helicopters with RPGs. Rangers fought through intense urban combat, securing the target buildings, defending the crash sites, and protecting wounded comrades while surrounded by determined enemy forces throughout the night. Despite heavy casualties and relentless attacks, the Rangers held their ground until a relief column fought its way into the city, after which many Rangers ran under fire to reach the armored vehicles in what became known as the Mogadishu Mile. Bridging the Gap Ride is an annual cycling event hosted by Motherland Cycling Club (MCC), that aims to bring cyclists of diverse backgrounds and persuasions together for a fun and entertaining ride where participants get to experience different cultures, eat, laugh and dance afterwards--all while also supporting a local charity. Who doesn't love hardware? All registrants crossing the finish line will receive a finisher medal. After ride entertainment will feature a DJ, food and raffle drawing. Get ready for a great time!
