The Wellington 5k and 10 Miler is designed to be the perfect fall tune up race for those training for fall races, including half and full marathons.  The course begins and ends at Tiger Shark Cove Park in Wellington, Florida.  The 5k course runs along a path on Greenbrier Boulevard, while the 10 Miler runs through the scenic Wellington Environmental Preserve at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Everglades Habitat located on Flying Cow Road.  The 10 mile run is a combination of paved path, shell rock road and boardwalks through the wetland habitat.  If you are looking for the extra challenge, then sign up for the 10 Miler Tower Challenge.  You will run up and down the 5-story tower during the 10 mile race.  This race is entering its 20th year and has consistently been a one-of-a-kind experience.  Race proceeds benefit the Kids Cancer Foundation and other local charities.

By participating in our event, you are supporting the inclusion, love and acceptance of people with Down syndrome (Trisomy 21).  All funds raised at this event go directly to improving the lives of persons with Down syndrome by providing needed therapies, education, events, support systems for families and social outlets.  Together we celebrate every life born with Down syndrome!   The Down Syndrome Association of Miami, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is dedicated to improving the lives of people with Down syndrome and their families.  All registrations and donations are tax deductible.

The Florida Inline Skating Marathon’s Inaugural event was launched by Founder/President Mike Mason, and an impassioned ensemble of inline skaters, in October 2021. The FISM immediately became the largest skate race in Florida; and of the largest in the nation. The FISM is held at the World Class venue- Nathan Benderson Park, in the charming community of Lakewood Ranch, in sunny, Sarasota, Florida. A variety of race distances offer something for everyone, regardless of age or ability. Not since 2005 had the World Inline Cup (WIC) been represented in the USA, to which the FISM is proud to be an Associated Race. If you are returning, thank you for your past participation! A History of the MCL/TEL Semper Fi 5K Charity Run for Children The origin of the run was as a fundraiser for the children and families of the Marines and Sailors who had perished in the Marine Barracks Beirut, Lebanon terrorist bombing attack on October 23, 1983. Marine 1stLt Chris Holzworth, having recently reported to the Marine Air Training and Support Group-21 (MATSG-21), Naval Air Station Pensacola, for flight training, presented the idea for the charity run to the CommandingOfficer, Colonel Robert “Bull” Bland, USMC. MATSG-21 adopted the idea and became the first sponsor of the event, initially named The Beirut Relief 10K Run. Colonel Bland assigned 1st Lt Chris Holzworth, who had initiated the idea, as the first Race Director. NAS Pensacola hosted the first run on Armed Forces Day in May 1984 with Brigadier General Joseph Hoar, USMC representing Headquarters Marine Corps and receiving the proceeds of the race.
