You are not running against a clock — you’re running from brain-hungry, virus-spreading, bloody zombies. BASIC SURVIVAL Before the race, you will be given a flag belt, just like the overly intimidating game of flag football. These flags represent your health. The zombies want to take your flags. WHAT YOU’RE UP AGAINST There will be zombies. Their job is to chase you — but mainly go after your health, in the form of your flag belt. Avoid the zombies to keep your health flags. Use speed, strategy and your intact brains to make it to the FINISH LINE “alive” with at least ONE FLAG INTACT. If you finish with zero health flags, this means the zombies have successfully transformed you into the “undead”. HOW YOU’LL DO IT There will be a start line, and a finish line, and the opportunity to avoid Zombies in between.

The 12th Annual Park to Port Bike Ride Get a bike’s-eye view of the Bayou City with the Park to Port bike ride on Saturday, October 24th! Park to Port is open to riders of all skill levels and is not a race. Whether you are an experienced rider or are riding just for fun, you can go at your own pace on this scenic city journey. The 20-mile round-trip bike ride takes cyclists from Hermann Park’s Bayou Parkland along the Bayou Greenway trail. Enjoy a turn-around party at Mason Park sponsored by Port Houston, but be sure to save some energy for a well-deserved post-ride party under the Bill Coats Bridge! The rolling start will begin at 8:00 am in Bayou Parkland at 6530 Almeda Road, near the Bill Coats Bridge (see map here) and ends at 9:00 am. This is the last time you can depart. When you get to Mason Park, Port Houston's fun-filled turnaround party will be waiting for you presented by Port Houston. The festivities will continue when you return to Hermann Park with a post-ride party featuring music, food, drinks, and activities with local organizations. The post-ride party wraps up at 11:30 am. Your participation in Park to Port supports Hermann Park Conservancy and its stewardship efforts for one of Houston’s most beloved parks while promoting the ever-growing Bayou Greenway trail system.

Presented by Luke’s Legacy of Light Benefiting Cook Children’s Hospital Oncology Families in honor of LUKE SUTHERLAND-HAMILTON Luke Garrett Sutherland-Hamilton, 6 years old, was diagnosed on October 9, 2018, with a metastatic cancerous brain tumor, known as Medulloblastoma. Though he put up a valiant fight, he sadly left this world for a better one on November 9, 2018. Our goal with the Super Luke 5K is two-fold. First, we want to remember the sweet little boy we all knew and loved. Secondly, we want to spread awareness and raise funds to help other families fighting this terrible cancer. Join us at the beautiful Angel Lagoon for a morning at the beach! This LADIES ONLY race will include a Sprint Triathlon and Relay as well as a Duathlon for those just not ready for the water. Your open water swim will be in the crystal clear waters of the Angel Lagoon where your race will end and the fun begins on their white sand, palm tree-lined beaches. The Sprint Triathlon will consist of a 300 meter swim, an 8-mile bike and a 5k run. The Duathlon will start with a 1 mile run and then the same 8-mile bike and 5k run as the Sprint Tri. All athletes will finish along the beach and be greeted with margaritas and more, and you are welcome to stay and enjoy all the amenities of the lagoon after. This is a USAT/USMS sanctioned open water race at Twin Lakes for youth and adult triathletes, US Masters Swimmers, and open water swimmers, from newbies to experienced athletes. Available distances are 800M, 1.6KM, and 2.4KM. Come get some training in for your next Ironman or try out open water swimming for the first time. It’s a calm and safe swim. This is an event, not just a race - come join us! You can sign up as a team, a club, or as individuals...join the fun! Please note - We reserve the right to make changes prior to race day. The entire course is clearly visible from areas around the lake, and the spectators will be able to see the athletes throughout the race with an unobstructed view. There will be multiple safety kayaks placed along the course. It’s a great time to come out and race! Full Race Timeline - TBD - but be ready...the first race starts at 8 am! Race Type: This is an Open Water lake race. Each event will start in the water from a dock entry/timed start. It will be swum in a counterclockwise direction with buoys staying on your left shoulder. The finish will be a dock exit. Athletes should wear brightly colored caps for this event - all participants must wear a cap. Each participant will be given a race number at the check-in phase of race. Athletes will wear the tattoos provided at checkin on both upper arms and the number should be written on the back left of the shoulder in Sharpie or waterproof marker in 3–4-inch height. Participants will check-in and race numbers verified prior to entry. If you are planning on swimming the 1.6K or 2.4K, you need to be able to swim an 800 in less than 30 minutes. Warm-up: There will be an open warm-up and warm-down in a restricted area. The separate warm-up area will be open for the duration of the event – NOT RESTRICTED TO A CERTAIN TIME. All participants will enter the starting dock at the designated warm up area and be directed by a lifeguard into the water off the starting dock, swim the course, and exit the water one at a time onto the finish dock. Any participant who would like to warm up more can line back up at the starting dock for another loop. Participants will be asked to walk from the warmup area to the competition area and are expected to arrive at the competition entrance at least 10 minutes prior to their assigned race start time. Concessions: The famous Shark Attack smash burgers are back! Water, sodas, and other goodies will be available as well. Location and Facilities: Twin Lakes RV Resort and Scuba Park is located at 19230 Morris Ave, Manvel, TX 77578. Changing areas, portable restrooms, and parking are available. Facebook: Click here Instagram: Click here Safety: Rescue personnel will be in kayaks positioned at each turn buoy and at the start and finish of the race. There will be one motorized water-craft monitoring the course throughout the race. All rescue personnel will have lifesaving buoys throughout the race. There will be lifeguards positioned at the warmup area and at the actual race start/finish site. Water will also be available for emergency situations on the platforms. Medical Evacuation Plan: If a participant is struggling or needs assistance, they should swim to the nearest shoreline and wait for the safety staff to arrive. If unable to make it to the shore, the participant should wave their hand and stay in the same location. Rescue personnel will come to their assistance. Participants will then be transported to the nearest shoreline or finish line by kayak. An EMT and ambulance will be on site to treat any participants if necessary. Weather: The race will be swum under all conditions except thunder and lightning. If there is hazardous weather in the area, we will delay the race 30 minutes per occurrence. We will make every attempt to swim the events. There will be no entry fee refunds. If there is hazardous weather during a race, foghorns will be used to alert participants to exit the lake at the nearest point. Participants are to meet back at the registration area and proceed to their vehicles.
