What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk? The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. The free Cooper River Bridge Run Kids Run and Family Festival will take place at River Front Park in North Charleston from 12:30 to 4:30 pm with family yoga and lots of outdoor activities and games. Harris Teeter will have light snacks and water available for children while supplies last. The races will kick off with a Mascot Race at 2:30, followed by the Toddler Waddler and the 400-Meter Race. All race participants will receive a finisher medal when they cross the finish line. Push your limits at The Grace Park Ultra, a unique endurance challenge set on a 2.1 mile trail loop in the heart of Greenwood SC. Runners have 12 hours to complete as many loops as possible. Whether you're aiming for a personal milestone or going for the win, this race is all about spending time in nature, being around friends, and testing your body and mind. Expect rolling terrain, hand cut singletrack trails as well as traditionally packed walking paths. Whether you are an ultrarunning veteran or this is your first ever endurance event, The Grace Park Ultra is your chance to test yourself, enjoy the trail, and celebrate every loop you complete! 3612 Ruck is a rucking endurance challenge designed to find out who is the most capable rucker. Calling all runners, walkers, and pre-Thanksgiving merrymakers! Join us for the Daniel Island Happy Hour 3 Mile Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 21 at 10:00 AM. We’ll meet at the Credit One gravel lot, cruise the beautiful DI trails together, and finish right back where we started—just in time to head over to LIDI for some post-trot social fun. Consider it your festive warm-up before the mashed potatoes, pies, and all the good stuff on Thursday! This is a casual, community-minded walk/run...come solo, bring friends, or rally your whole crew. The goal is simple: move a little, laugh a lot, and kick off Thanksgiving week with that feel-good Daniel Island spirit. And here’s a little extra holiday cheer: the first 50 participants who arrive with items from the ECCO “Most Needed” list will receive a free Turkey Trot T-shirt (while supplies last). It’s a fun way to give back and look great doing it!
