Our community is the only city in the nation to follow the old tradition of ringing bells throughout the town in the early morning hours of Veteran’s Day. This race will mimic some of those old traditions to honor our nation's veteran community. We are honored to be part of this event and look forward to the engagement of the families in Loveland. This event benefits Post 2000, which is created a Loveland Colorado Veteran's Assistance program.

This is not your run of the mill 'Turkey Trot.'  This is the Turkey TREK!  Are you up for the challenge?  Run a steady uphill climb to the summit of the course at the 3 mile mark.  Poised at the top of the hill is the infamous EGG NOG CHUG Challenge where racers (have the option) to chug 5 oz of eggnog.  (Those who 'chug' are entered to win a new pair of shoes!) How the Prediction Run Works Submit your estimated 5K finish time when registering. Instead of a single mass start, we use a countdown clock set to the slowest predicted time. Staggered Start: Slower runners start first, middle-of-the-pack runners follow, and the fastest runners start last. For the 2nd year in a row, the 285 Turkey Trot is being planned and organized by CRATES (Colorado Race and Timing Event Services) Colorado, a new small business born right here in Bailey. CRATES Colorado is Colorado's new premiere event services planning organization, specializing in fundraising events, race creation, event timing, course set-up & take-down and their newly added adventure service, "Guided donkey hikes with award winning miniature donkeys", based right here beautiful Bailey, CO. Come join us for this annual family tradition, this year held on Saturday, November 21st, right here in beautiful Bailey, Colorado. This is our 14th Annual Turkey Trot held on Thanksgiving morning, with the goal of paying it forward to local families in need during the holiday season. All race participants may nominate a family within the Johnstown and Milliken communities who will receive a gift card for the use of groceries to assist with their holiday meals. We invite the whole family to walk, jog, run or crawl through the 5K. We offer a 1K course for the smaller runners!
