Join VARRA on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 7:30 AM at Riverside Park for a fun 5k! This year, the Sparkler Kids 1 Mile run will begin at 8:15 AM to allow for kiddos to participate in the fun as well! For $30, you can participate in this firecrackin' good time of a race! Prices increase to $35 on Monday, June 1 and will go up to $40 on race day. Registration will end at 7:15 AM race morning. Paid VARRA members will receive a 20% discount, which is automatically applied at checkout. Packet pickup will only be offered from 6:30 AM - 7:15 AM the morning of the race, Saturday, July 4th at Riverside Stadium. Bib assignment will happen during packet pickup at the check-in table setup with volunteers. Race day parking is at the Riverside Stadium Parking Lot. It's 7/11 day! Also known as Slurpee Day, it's officially here, and it’s the ultimate brain freeze celebration. But before you head out for that free frozen drink from your local convenience store, join in the official unofficial social run/walk and grab a few miles, Peticolas brews, breakfast tacos and a custom Brain Freeze Peticolas pint glass too.  Go at YOUR pace, run, walk, skip, whatever you like the goal is to show up and have fun. Bring a friend or make new ones at the social run. The three miles is on a trail near the brewery! Check-in is between the hours of 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.  You can start your run/walk whenever you would like or join the 'group' start at 8:30 AM and run with the group! The rolling start allows you a choice, flexibility to go at your pace but please arrive by 9:00 AM (check in ends promptly at 9:00 AM, thank you!). Along the trail there will be mile markers out, and bottled water available to take with you (there is no water on the course)

Come join us for the 46th year of the Toughest 10K in Texas 10K, 5K & 1-Mile Run!  This race is part of the 2026 Centex Race Series, with points for both the 5K and 10K races. This race is hosted by the Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center and is held in conjunction with the Annual Lampasas Spring Ho Festival. Every year since 2020, during our organization's Celebration of Life Cancer Awareness Event weekend, we host a 5K walk that began in the midst of the pandemic. Its purpose is to remind everyone how important life is and to encourage regular exercise while promoting awareness of critical health issues such as cancer, sarcoidosis, diabetes, and now COVID-19. We come together to walk in the city of Melissa, Texas—where our organization is based—to raise awareness and show support within the community we serve. We invite you to sign up and join us for this year’s walk on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 8:00 AM. The walk will begin at Melissa Lake Park in Melissa, TX (please note, if the starting location changes, you will be notified in advance via email). If you are unable to attend in person, you can still participate by signing up, making a donation, and completing the 3-mile walk in your own neighborhood. Join us for Race #3 of the Bayou City Triathlon Series for 2026. This iconic race is in its 18th year, and features a competitive group of triathletes, yet is a favorite for first-timers as well. We will have a pre-race clinic the weekend before, and race weekend has something for everyone. Saturday is the Doggie Du and Youth Triathlon, and Sunday is the Sprint Triathlon, Super Sprint Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquabike (swim-bike).

This race consists of the following: Individual, Team Competition, 3 Person Relay and a 5K. Individual Competition: Sign up to participate as an individual. We will have age groups in 5 year increments. The Sprint Triathlon Team option is included for the 12th year. The team competition  will consist of three divisions – male, female, and coed. This is NOT a relay, each team member will do all three components of the Sprint Tri. The overall race times of the three team members will be added together to determine a final team time. The team with the lowest total time in their division will win team trophies. Are you ready to test your limits, your strength, your tenacity and to accomplish one of the hardest races of your life. Well you have come to the right place. Dragon trails will challenge you through the trails at pearsall park. We have three races for you to choose from  First choice and the most challenging is the Great Dragon 25k Trail race which has a 2 loop course through the front hills of the dragon trails and then you follow it to the back trails which are nicer to travel but are relenting with the heat. This course will have a waterstop every mile with water and gatorade for each runner.  Second choice will be the Ultimate Dragon 10K which consist of almost all the same course as the 1st loop of the 25k, only difference it turns around early near the 7th waterstop. The 10k will also have tons of hills and heat for all of our contestants.
