The Mayodan Lions Club will host “Strides for Diabetes Awareness, 5K and 1 mile fun run” to raise funds and awareness in our local community. The concept is simple, run or walk a 5K course and 100% of the proceeds from our fundraising will aid diabetes camp, low boxes, and donations to Rockingham County School nurses to assist diabetic students. The Beaufort Lions Club is pleased to announce our 8th Annual Beaufort Bridge Run 5K Race and 1+ Mile Dog Strut on November 7, 2026, with the course going on and over the two bridges in Beaufort. These events are the only ones to feature both Beaufort bridges – the high-rise Gallants Channel (Grayden Paul) Bridge and the Turner Street Bridge. With this run/walk event, the Beaufort Lions Club will be starting our 2nd decade of fundraising road races. Join us on November 7, 2026, at Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro, North Carolina for the Montagnard Association of North Carolina’s first 5K Fun Run! This exciting event is a fundraiser supporting our future Community Wellness Center, which will serve as the hub for expanding all the programs we hope to offer to the Montagnard community. Welcome to Fayetteville's only Half Marathon on the Cape Fear River Trail! All races will feature different routes and use the Cape Fear River Trail. This trail is a beautiful, paved greenway trail along the Cape Fear River. The start and finish line will be at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. There will be on course support.  There will be no pets allowed at this event. This race will have an option to add on a VIP experience. The relaunched annual Warren Rives Heart to Heart 5K is a community event supporting Heart Strides.  Heart Strides is a medically directed cardiac-pulmonary rehabilitation program providing heart health instruction, supervised fitness and nutritional support for those in the community who have experienced a cardiac or pulmonary event. The funds raised in the Reidsville YMCA’s annual Turkey Trot race benefit the community by contributing to the Y’s Programs and Annual Giving Campaign. The Annual Giving Campaign provides financial assistance to those in our community who otherwise could not afford YMCA programs and services. Funding provides scholarships for memberships, swim lessons, sports and child care, creating opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities regardless of their ability to pay. This will be the sixth running of the “I Thought Turkeys Could Fly” 5k. The proceeds this year will benefit the DUMA Food Bank.  The USATF certified course will begin and end on North General Lee Ave by Tyler Park in Dunn, NC. The course is flat and fast with only 56 ft of elevation change and a downhill finish. The race is scheduled for Saturday November 8, 2025. The race will start at 8:00 a.m. and will be chip timed. Medals will be presented to the top 3 overall female and male.  Age group medals will be given to females and males based on USAT&F 10 year groupings: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and up. The 10th Annual Holly Springs Half Marathon brings you race distances of Half Marathon, 10k & 5k.  Whether you are a seasoned runner or hoping to complete your first distance race, you’ll absolutely love these course options. We are back on the Boone Greenway Trail for the 16th Annual High Country Turkey Trot! Choose from a 5K or 10K timed race or an untimed Fun Run/Walk. Taking place on Thanksgiving morning, The High Country Turkey Trot is open to competitive runners, casual joggers, walkers, and fun runners. The Murphy Scholarship is Leesville Road High School's first endowed scholarship. Founded in 2011 in memory of Leesville's first principal, Richard J. Murphy, it seeks to inspire incoming students by recognizing the best of our graduating senior class. The major fundraiser for the scholarship is the Leesville Community Turkey Trot, presented by Murray Moyer.
