Welcome to the 2nd Annual Latitude 29.2 Triathlon at Fort Travis Seashore Park located on the Bolivar Peninsula. This beautiful and historical property will the site for the Latitude 29.2 Triathlon on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026. The swim will take place in the Gulf of Mexico with a protected barrier on both sides, the bike will take place on Hwy. 87 with an out and back route (Two loops for Olympic and one loop for sprint) and a run through a local neighborhood with beautiful views of the gulf. So let's get out and celebrate MOM, the best way possible, with a nice run/walk with the family, delicious brews and fabulous tacos. No dishes to wash, no mess to clean up, just pure joy with MOM! Happy Mother's Day!    Go at YOUR pace, run, walk, skip, whatever you like the goal is to show up and have fun. Bring a friend or make new ones at the social run. The three miles is on a trail near the brewery! Check-in is between the hours of 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.  You can start your run/walk whenever you would like or join the 'group' start at 8:30 AM and run with the group! The rolling start allows you a choice, flexibility to go at your pace but please arrive by 9:00 AM (check in ends promptly at 9:00 AM, thank you!).   Along the trail there will be mile markers out, and bottled water available to take with you (there is no water on the course) or bring your own filled water bottle.   Th

Stomp into action at the Balch Springs Dino Fun Run & 5K! This prehistoric-themed race is perfect for runners, walkers, and families of all ages. Dino attire is encouraged — the bigger the roar, the better! Registration begins at 7:00 AM, and the race kicks off at 8:00 AM. We invite all interested runners—elementary, middle school, and high school—to participate in the North Texas 1600, scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026. The event will take place on the track in the evening and will feature Fully Automatic Timing (F.A.T.). Please note that this is a non-UIL event. All participants must compete unattached and may not wear school uniforms. A sample schedule from last year’s event is provided below for reference.
