The Brazos VFD is a dedicated group of volunteers committed to protecting the lives, property and safety of the Brazos community.  We are proud to share that our new fire station is now built and operational, with our fire trucks officially housed in the new facility.  While the structure is complete, we are continuing to finish out essential areas including the bathrooms, offices and kitchen. Funds raised through events like the Crazy 8 Brazos VFD 5K, directly support these final improvements, as well as vital equipment and training, ensuring we can continue to serve our community with excellence for years to come.     We would love to host the race around our new fire station, (201 E Rusk St), though final plans have not yet been made. We are excited to announce the Fourth Annual HCCA Rooted in Him 5k on Saturday, October 25th beginning at Chisenhall Fields as part of our Capital Campaign. Last year, thanks to your incredible support, we hit a record-breaking milestone and awarded $10,000 in scholarships! This year, we’re dreaming even bigger for 2026, and we can’t do it without you! The FOURTH ever Leander Band 5k will be held on Saturday, April 25th!!! The mission of the race is to assist in fundraising efforts for the internationally-decorated Leander HS Band Program. Registration is open to any and all ages, and prizes will be awarded in several categories. Race registration includes a commemorative t-shirt (up to a certain registration date) and access to post race snacks! The course takes you on a tour of our campus, surrounded by the music of our young musicians.    After you finish the race, you will be treated to displays and giveaways from all of our sponsors and local vendors on the stadium turf!   A FREE Kiddie K (400m) will take place prior to the start of the 5k. The Kiddie K is open to any child 10 years or younger and is an untimed lap around the track for fun! 5K and 1-mile Race Information Calling all the runners in Nacogdoches! Join us for a scenic run or walk through the beautiful SFA campus. The 3rd annual Multicultural Festival 5k and 1 mile will begin held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 7:30 am.  All runners will gather and begin in the parking lot of St. Mary’s Church located at 214 Wettermark St. The 3.1 mile and 1 mile course will wind through the SFA campus. Winners in each category will be recognized and awarded during an awards ceremony after each race.             This race kicks off the Multicultural Festival weekend event located at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
