NOM-York’s 5K was created to raise funds to support our mission – to provide awareness, education and support to those affected by substance use disorder and addiction – as well as to provide a gathering opportunity for the recovery community. At our event, we remember those we have lost to addiction and honor those fighting for recovery.  Our 5K is not like others. It is not a highly competitive event. Although we do our best, we sometimes start the race a little late, and we have hiccups along the way. If you are a serious runner, this may not be the event for you.

3rd Annual Color Run/Walk around Central York High School in honor of Erin Walker. Erin was an amazing teacher at Central York High school and would want nothing more than to give back to the students. All proceeds benefit scholarships for Central York students continuing higher education.  About the 3 mile course: The course follows a 2 lap route around Central York High School. A majority of the course is on pavement, but there will be a section of grass with a small incline to keep the course exciting. US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish. Please plan for the weather, bring anything you may want between laps, and check in with race staff if you need help. The Region’s Oldest Running Event! The first York White Rose Run was held in 1977 and it has been run on the streets of York City for 47 years. This family-friendly race has drawn as many as 800+ runners and has been known to attract a field of elite runners from local and regional areas, including Olympic Games participants from eleven different countries. The York Road Runners Club, established in 1976, manages, organizes, and directs the York White Rose Run. Washed Clean 5k run, mile walk and kids 1/4 mile fun run is a trail run at Genesis Church. Glatfelter Branch YMCA.     The race begins at the Arthur J. Glatfelter Branch YMCA, 90 N. Newberry St, York, PA 17401 and ends at Lafayette Plaza in the heart of the City of York. The flat course begins on city streets and transitions to the York County Heritage Rail Trail for the remainder of the race.
