Races

This event will be held at the Bowman Business Park in Williamsport, MD…..just minutes from PA, 20 minutes from Martinsburg, WV and Frederick, MD and 90 minutes from Baltimore and DC. The races will start and finish in the parking lot area between the two Breweries, Cushwa Brewing Co and Interchange Tiki Bar & Brewing. The event will include a kids .50 mile fun run, a 5K road race (runners, walkers, families invited), a 21 & older Beer Mile, Tiki-tizer mile. There will be an after-party that will start at 11:00am and end around 3pm. Participants have the option to sign up for all 3 races, the 5K, Beer Mile, and TIki Tizer races as the events do not overlap.   **Please Note: We do not offer refunds or deferrals. *NEW DATE in 2026! Run with us on JUNE 6th! The 45th Annual Gary Brown Memorial C&O Canal Five Mile Run event will be held on the C&O Canal Towpath in Williamsport, MD. This event is geared towards all levels from beginners to advanced runners. The Legacy of Gary Brown In the 1960's, Gary Brown was a star distance runner for Martinsburg High School, Shepherd College and the Cumberland Valley Athletic Club.  Gary went into high school teaching and coaching after graduating from Shepherd College. He developed one of the nation’s top distance programs. In the mid-1970's his Handley High School Boys Cross Country Team was the number one ranked High School Cross Country Team in the United States.   Sadly, Gary passed way from cancer in the winter of 1981-82, prior to his 35th birthday. What: 5th Annual Lock 2 Lock Marathon, Half Marathon and 10KWhen: Saturday, September 12, 2026Where: Entirely along the C&O Canal Towpath in Williamsport, Maryland All three races take place on the C&O Canal towpath. The start/finish area will be Lock 44 (DO NOT USE FOR PARKING). Cutoff time is 3:00 p.m. (allowing for a pace of 17 minutes and 11 seconds per mile. Runners will start near Lock 44 and travel in a generally southeasterly direction for 6.56 miles to Lock 43 (exact point to be specified, marked and staffed by event volunteers), then turn around and travel back to Lock 44.
