The Big Gay 5K is the centerpiece of Big Gay Weekend—a colorful, high-energy run and walk through Barrio Viejo followed by High Heel Havoc and extended post-race programming in Armory Park. The celebration begins Friday with the Kickoff Kiki at HighWire, featuring bib pickup, drinks, sign-making and plenty of pre-race sparkle. Work up an appetite on Thanksgiving morning at Reid Park! The Thanksgiving XC Classic offers a European style cross country course with hay bales on grass, dirt, and a little asphalt. The 5K has separate races for women and men. If you run in the opposite gendered race, your results may take up to 48 hours to post and you are not eligible for awards. The 5K course will be two loops and the 1.5 Mile course will be one loop. Course starts near Ramada #10 at the southwest corner of Reid Park at 22nd Street and Country Club Road. Strollers are welcome, though the course is hilly and mostly on grass and dirt. Lanes are provided for strollers to bypass the hay bales. The 10th annual Hanukkah Hot Cocoa Run is a timed 5k and 1 mile race with a free 1k untimed run for all ages and abilities. The run stars and ends at the Tucson JCC in the Jill Rosenzweig Memorial Sculpture Garden with an out and back course on the Rillito River Path. The Jingle Trail races continue the healthy holiday themed legacy of running in Tucson and Vail. Mica Mountain High School and the Mica Mountain Cross Country Program aim to engage the community in promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement. This year we'll attempt to pack up a Vail School District bus with over 500 new toys for our local community. The RunAround Tucson (RAT) Relay covers 50+ miles of The Loop, starting and finishing at Rillito Regional Park. Come join us for one of the most iconic races in Southern Arizona! Sabino Canyon located in the Coronado National Forest, is one of the most beautiful desert canyons in the American southwest and a true jewel of the Tucson community. This unique 7.4 mile race is designed to capitalize on the majestic nature of Sabino Canyon to provide a unique opportunity to experience the challenges of a great race in a truly magnificent setting. This race often sells out quickly and we are restricted to a certain number of registrants per distance so we cannot do any REFUNDS, SUBSTITUTIONS, REPLACEMENTS or WAIT LIST. Also, make sure to register by 4/5/2026 if you want a race shirt. *Runners in the 7.4 Mile event must maintain a sub-19 minute per mile pace. Tucson's Fastest 5k: Historically the Tucson 5000 is one of the fastest 5Ks in the West! This pancake-flat, fast USATF certified course provides the perfect opportunity for a 5K PR or run your first 5K on a course that is beginner friendly. This race has been a Tucson staple for over 20 years with 20+ of the current Arizona age records for the 5k being set at the Tucson 5000! Remaining shirts have been brought to the Running Shop (3055 N Campbell Ave, Tucson) for pick up on a first-come, first-served basis.   Run inspired by the beauty of the Painted Hills and the majesty of the Tucson Mountains, with panoramic views of the Tucson Basin.  The 10k course starts at Pima College West and cruises the iconic rolling hills of the Tucson Mountains near scenic Starr Pass and Gates Pass.   The updated 5k course is an out-and-back with more room for runners and walkers!
