The Workout Group

Welcome to The Workout Group!   Our goal for this community is to create a positive and safe environment for you to run your best.  Led by a team of RRCA-certified running coaches, The Workout Group meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and evenings from August through May.  Our Tuesday workouts include a variety of higher intensity intervals for building leg speed, while Thursday's workouts include stamina building sessions.  Tuesday & Thursday Evening Workouts:  St. Phillip's Plaza, 6 PMTuesday & Thursday Morning Workouts: Rillito Sports Fields, 5:30 AM We ask that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to get in some kind of warm-up activity before the workout.   Recommended gear: Water bottle: A hand-held to carry during the hotter runs, or bottle to stash in the car for before and after run hydration.Watch:  Some workouts are time based and some are paced based.  Either way, it's nice to keep track on a running watch.Head lamp:  Starting in September the days

Spring Cross Country Classic 5K + FitKidz Mile

The Southern Arizona Roadrunners is celebrating 50 years with a special edition of the Spring Cross Country Classic 5K in 2026—a free race for everyone! Set on the scenic rolling trails of Lincoln Regional Park, this retro-inspired event brings runners back to the sport’s grassroots: no shirts, no medals, just pure cross-country fun. 2026 FitKidz Running Club

FitKidz Running Club will meet at Himmel Park every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00-6:00pm starting March 24th and ending April 16th, 2026 on Soccer Field 'A' (Soccer Field Closest to Himmel Library). The FitKidz Running Club is FREE and will promote and highlight improved skills over a 4-week period, focusing on progress over performance and enjoyment over competition. The kids will start out running intervals of 200 meters and grow the distance each week, culminating in a mile fun run. Each 60-minute session will start with a warm-up, followed by a running activity,  a running game, and ending with a short nutrition or other educational activity. Sabino Canyon Sunset Run

Sabino Canyon located in the Coronado National Forest, is one of the most beautiful desert canyons in the American southwest and a true jewel of the Tucson community. Dave's Run For ALS

Welcome to the 21st Annual Vail Jingle Trail!

The Jingle Trail races continue the healthy holiday themed legacy of running in Tucson and Vail. Mica Mountain High School and the Mica Mountain Cross Country Program aim to engage the community in promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement. We are proud to help partner with the local community, Vail School District Transportation Department and collect toys for Toys for Tots. This year we'll attempt to pack up a Vail School District bus with over 500 new toys for our local community. Every registered runner/walker is requested to bring a new & unwrapped toy for donation.Our Cross Country team and school would like to thank you for considering coming to this event, being a part of the Mica Mountain collaborative culture, and helping to brighten the holidays for those around us. Passing through the gates of an old frontier town, you'll be transported back in time to the mythic Wild West.   Dash down the streets of Hollywood’s most famous films, and walk in the footsteps of movie legends like John Wayne, Sharon Stone, and other class film stars.  The 8-Mile race includes a 2-mile loop inside the Old Tucson grounds, then a 4-mile loop on the trails of Tucson Mountain Park, then a closing 2-mile loop inside Old Tucson, with a start and finish at the Bitter Creek and High Chaparral sets.
