The Move, Nourish, Give 5K brings the FSU and Tallahassee community together to get active, give back to campus, and help fill Thanksgiving tables across the Big Bend. MOVE Run, jog, or walk the 5K at your own pace. All fitness levels are welcome, and you're welcome to bring friends, teammates, and family. Turkey Gobbler 1 Mile Race The Turkey Gobbler 1 Mile Race starts at 8:00 a.m. sharp. The start is on Esplanade Way close to the flagpole. The Gobbler course runs a big rectangle and there are only PRs without any hills. The finish line for all four races is located at the same on Esplanade Way close to Merchants Row. The Turkey Trot 5K (3.1 Miles) The 5K starts on Esplanade Way at 8:30 a.m. sharp.  There is a hill on this course, but overall it is a very fast course. It is also the race distance most people choose to run. The course is primarily a loop on Grove Park Drive around Central Park Lake and it finishes on Esplanade Way near the start. The Turkey Trot 10K (6.2 Miles) The 10K race starts at the same place (Espanade Way) and time (8:30 AM) as the 5K and the 15K.  For the first two miles the race courses run the same path. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. The annual event offers runners a chance to complete a one-loop Quarter Marathon (6.8 mi), two-loop Half Marathon (13.6 mi), or three-loop 20-Mile Challenge (20.4 mi). Registration Opens October 1. Race Shirt December 15 (Noon) is the last day to register to receive a race shirt. Event Limit This event is limited to 150 runners; sign up early to guarantee your spot! About the Course The course consists of beautiful rolling terrain on both single-track and multi-use trails. The Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park Trail is comprised of three main loops: Swamp Forest, Coon Bottom, and Oak Hammock, along with several connecting trails. The course connects these trails into a 6.8-mile loop. The Swamp Forest Loop runs next to a seepage basin swamp and a profusion of ferns, passes ephemeral ponds, and a Beech-Magnolia forest.The Coon Bottom Loop runs beside a clear sand-bottom seepage stream in many places, and passes through Beech-Magnolia and Spruce Pine forests. The trail crosses a black-water stream that drains a seepage basin swamp. Along the north side of the loop, the trail passes through an upland forest.The Oak Hammock Loop runs near the shore of Lake Jackson. Deer can often be seen along the edges of open fields. The adjacent fields contain many fenced gopher tortoise holes.The Creek Forest Trail runs around the head of a seepage stream, curves around an ephemeral pond, then encounters a series of meander loops of the main stream. There are large patches of Giant Cane and Arundinaria gigantea along the trail.The Big Tree Cutoff passes a swamp that contains Pinckneya, Needle Palms and a stand of huge Tulip-Poplars. The Tallahassee Marathon began in 1975 with just two participants. From there, it has grown to a first-class event showcasing Florida’s capital city like no other race. The Tallahassee Marathon is an all-volunteer event organized by the Gulf Winds Track Club, a local non-profit dedicated to advancing the sport of running, whether for competition, physical fitness, or pleasure. The Girl Flo Period Positivity Walk is a community-centered event dedicated to raising awareness about period poverty, promoting menstrual health education, and expanding access to essential period products. Hosted by The Girl Flo, the Period Positivity Walk brings together students, families, community organizations, advocates, and supporters for a one-mile walk with one shared message: Ending period poverty starts here. Period poverty impacts individuals who may not have consistent access to pads, tampons, and other menstrual health necessities. Through this walk, we are creating a space to educate, advocate, and take action while challenging the stigma that too often surrounds menstruation. Participants are encouraged to walk, connect with community partners, learn more about menstrual health and period poverty, and support The Girl Flo's continued efforts to provide period products and resources to communities in need.
