The Rockford Fire Department welcomes you to participate in the 22nd Annual Rockford Fire Department 911 - 3K Run/Walk.  Join the fun and challenge yourself, family, or friends at this incredible event. This event was formed to bring fire prevention and emergency medical education to our community.  The numbers 9-1-1 are an iconic symbol of emergency services across the nation.  It also holds special significance following the events of September 11, 2001.  We honor the memory of that day with the race's start time 9:11am.   The Rockford Fire Department utilizes many training aids to provide fire and medical education to our community. Each year, we have direct contact with over 60,000 people, and many more through social media and public service announcements.  Proceeds from this race are used to educate our community, from toddlers to senior citizens, in fire prevention, safety, and community risk reduction.  The proceeds from this race will be used to purchase training aids and

Competition and Fun that makes a difference! What better way to end your summer than getting out for some family-friendly competition (for those who want to be competitive) in downtown Rockford. RAMP will be hosting the 13th Annual 3K Walk/Wheel, 5K Run, 1/2 Marathon! All proceeds from these events will go directly to RAMP. Rockford Road Runners 19th Annual Hobo Rendezvous Location - Rock Cut State Park Choose to do a single events or pick the challenging Triple Crown all three races 85k or the Triple Crown "Lite" 60k with the 10k on Friday evening then a 25k Sat. & Sun. Friday Nite's 10k is an evening trail race. Bring running lights, headlamps, flashlights, etc. Trail will be marked with signage, glow sticks. and reflective markers. This is a trail race in the dark the park closes at 10:00 pm all runners must be finished by 9:30 in order to leave park before closing. Note we did say that the 10k is a trail race run in the dark on trails be sure you have practiced running on trails in the dark so you know what you are setting out to do. 10k will start near the boat launch in Rock Cut State Park, Friday Sept. 11, - 7:00pm start - Runners must be finished by 9:30 in order to be out of the park by 10:00 - gates are locked. 25k will start and finish at Red Oak picnic area, Saturday Sept. 12, - 8:00am start - Course is supported for 5 hours on Saturday. Doing your first 25k? The course on Sunday is supported for 8 hours . 50k & 25k will start and finish at the Red Oak picnic area, Sunday Sept. 13, - 8:00am start - Course is supported for 8 hours. Come glow with us! Flat and scenic course along the Rock River Recreation Path and Nicholas Conservatory/Sinnissippi Gardens. Wear anything that glows! Black lights and other fun glow surprises throughout the course. 5k Registration Includes: T-shirt, admission ticket to Nicholas Conservatory, and finisher medal. Course: Starting just south of Nicholas Conservatory, the course runs north along the Rock River Recreation Path, into Loves Park (up Illinois St., left on Snow Ave., left on Arlington, left on Ransom), then right turn back south to the Nicholas Conservatory. Lots of glowing fun along the way! (Most areas will be light enough to see, but if you feel uncertain, bring a flashlight or headlamp.) Walkers and runners of all abilities are welcome! Unfortunately, due to the width of the path and number of people on the path, we cannot allow strollers or dogs. Thank you for your understanding! Time & Start: 5k starts at 7:30 pm just south of Nicholas Conservatory - Look for the glowing arch! The race is chip-timed. Trolley Shuttle: Trolley Car 36 will be shuttling guests along the Riverfront from YMCA to Symbol - it is FREE but donations are appreciated! Awards: 8:30 pm at the glowing arch start/finish. Food Trucks: Stay tuned for which food trucks will be available. Show Us Your Glow! Paint your face, glam your shirts, and GLOW have fun! Most of the course is decked out with laser lights, black lights, uplights, and more. Nicholas Conservatory: The inside gardens, Nicholas Conservatory, will be closed during Glow in the Garden, but come back before October 18 to check out this summer and fall's exhibit, Botanical Curiosities: Carnivorous Plants & Other Herbaceous Oddities (www.nicholasconservatory.com). Wishing Lanterns & Other Activities: Stick around after the race for Glow in the Garden Wishing Lanterns on the Eclipse Lagoon ($5 per lantern) and family games and activities in the outdoor gardens. Trail Mix is two events, an off-road duathlon and a mountain bike race, on the same day! Two distances for each event. The Trail Mix duathlon is a 2 mile run, 10 mile bike, 2 mile run (individual or team of 2 people, 1 runner and 1 biker) The Half Mix duathlon is a 2 mile run and 5 mile bike. The Trail Mix Competitive mountain bike race is 20 miles The Trail Mix Sport mountain bike race is 10 miles. Sign up for both a duathlon and a mountain bike race and receive a 25% discount at checkout! The run loop is at https://www.strava.com/segments/29916486 and goes clockwise. The bike loop is at https://www.strava.com/segments/32772773 and goes counter-clockwise. Both courses and transition will be thoroughly marked. All of the events are at the Atwood Park Trail System, 7074 Rydberg Rd, Rockford, IL 61109. Both runs and the ride will be on the off-road trails. A mountain bike is strongly recommended. Sign up as an individual or a team consisting of 2 people. Professional chip timing by Tri-3 Sports Timing. Your entry includes a custom Purist water bottle, your choice of meal from Sizz n Fizz food truck, and ice cream from Dairyhäus on site! There's not any packet pickup to worry about ahead of time. Pre-racing meeting for the duathlon will be at 8:45am. You must be checked in before then. The MTB course will be open for pre-riding at 11a with non race course trails open all day. Pre-race meeting at 11:45a. We will cap the total duathlon entries at 90 and the total mountain bike entries at 125. There is not race day sign up. 100% of proceeds for the event will be donated to further trail building and maintenance in the Rockford area. Run or walk among the Halloween light displays at dusk and complete 1, 2, 3 or even 4 loops of the mile route. Costumes, strollers and pets are welcome! Proceeds are used to purchase Halloween costumes for local children in need!! T-shirts guaranteed through October 19th. Great door prizes!!

5K Run & Walk: A 5K Run/Walk to Benefit the Veterans Drop-In Center in Rockford, IL. This is our 14th annual run and will, again, be held at Rock Valley College. This run is USATF certified (IL26022NM) and is a 2026 RRR Circuit Race. See more information about the RRR Circuit at www.rockfordroadrunners.org 5k Ruck Division: This is a 5k Ruck. This event starts at the same time as the 5k. It requires the participant to carry a rucksack (aka. backpack) for the entire 5k distance. If you weigh > 150 lbs = your Ruck should weigh 20 lb. If you weigh < 150 lbs = your Ruck should weigh 10 lb. There are no age group awards for the 5k Ruck - only 1st overall male & Female. Registration pricing: $35 per participant, $15 for children 17 and under Discount of $3 for RRR (does not include children 17 and under).
