This event was formed to bring fire prevention and emergency medical education to our community.  The numbers 9-1-1 are an iconic symbol of emergency services across the nation.  It also holds special significance following the events of September 11, 2001.  We honor the memory of that day with the race's start time 9:11am.   The Rockford Fire Department utilizes many training aids to provide fire and medical education to our community. This run honors Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson who was KIA on August 6, 2011 while serving in Afghanistan. All proceeds from the race will support Retrieving Freedom, Inc. to provide service dogs to our veterans. Navy Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Jon Thomas "JT" Tumilson was killed along with 29 other Americans and 1 service dog on August 6, 2011 when the chinook he was traveling on was shot down in Wardak Province, Afghanistan. To honor his memory, his family founded 3 Minutes Out, Inc which is a non-profit established to help active duty military, veterans, and their families through various programs. Jon had a love for life and running was one of the things he loved to do. To honor his memory his family has planned an annual 5K run and walk to encourage others to get fit no matter what their physical fitness level. A full gas assault on Luton Park to determine the true KOM or QOM to benefit the Pitt Hopkins Research Foundation (PHRF) The race course at Luton Park will feature an approximately 8-mile loop of single track.  (Expert/Elite - 3 laps, Sport 2 laps, and beginner 1 lap)  It is a hard-packed, fast course with some technical sections and moderate climbs. Passing will be easily achieved in several areas.   This is a time trial, and start times are based on the date and time you register and category, so register early for the best starting position.

Rockford Road Runners 19th Annual Hobo Rendezvous Location - Rock Cut State Park Choose to do a single events or pick the challenging Triple Crown all three races 85k or the Triple Crown "Lite" 60k with the 10k on Friday evening then a 25k Sat. & Sun. Friday Nite's 10k is an evening trail race. Bring running lights, headlamps, flashlights, etc. Trail will be marked with signage, glow sticks. and reflective markers. This is a trail race in the dark the park closes at 10:00 pm all runners must be finished by 9:30 in order to leave park before closing. Note we did say that the 10k is a trail race run in the dark on trails be sure you have practiced running on trails in the dark so you know what you are setting out to do. 10k will start near the boat launch in Rock Cut State Park, Friday Sept. 11, - 7:00pm start - Runners must be finished by 9:30 in order to be out of the park by 10:00 - gates are locked. 25k will start and finish at Red Oak picnic area, Saturday Sept. 12, - 8:00am start - Course is supported for 5 hours on Saturday. Trail Mix is two events, an off-road duathlon and a mountain bike race, on the same day! Two distances for each event. The Trail Mix duathlon is a 2 mile run, 10 mile bike, 2 mile run (individual or team of 2 people, 1 runner and 1 biker) The Half Mix duathlon is a 2 mile run and 5 mile bike. The Trail Mix Competitive mountain bike race is 20 miles The Trail Mix Sport mountain bike race is 10 miles. Lake Rebecca Triathlon is located just 30 miles west of downtown Minneapolis at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve in Rockford, MN. Lake Rebecca is part of the Three Rivers Park District, and provides a beautiful backdrop for a great day of racing and spectating. There are many reasons why Lake Rebecca has continued to be such a popular destination for a triathlon: a clear, clean non-motorboat lake, low traffic county roads with wide shoulders, a beautiful run in the shade of mature trees, parking close to transition and lots of room to roam for spectators and families.
