Races Near Me: Upcoming Running Races

The Trick-or-Trot Fun Run begins on October 24th at 2:00 pm, with registration open in-person from 1:30 pm until the races begin. Registration is FREE. Bring your friends and family! The race is located at 1170 E. Palmer-Moose Creek Road (Palmer-Moose Dr.), Palmer, AK 99645, behind the building at the Cross Country Trails. Please park in the front Palmer High School parking lot, and signs will direct you further. The event will be behind the school, in the practice field next to the football field! Events include a 5k, 1k, Diaper Dash, costume contest, and a raffle! Raffle tickets will be $1 each or 25 tickets for $20, available for purchase at the race. Winners will be revealed after the races and contest have concluded. During races, candy will be tossed to runners all over the course. Photographer(s) will be present at the race to take pictures of our runners and costume contest participants! Please wear a costume and add to the fun! Run for a cause! This race raises funds for CCS Early Learning, an organization dedicated to early childhood education and family services. They support pregnant women, help children from birth to age five thrive, and guide families toward reaching their goals. The option to donate is available on the bottom of this page. The First Howl: Trails & Nog is everything you could hope for in a winter trail party...snowy trail loops, a book hunt, and a bit of eggnog to top off the festivities!    The Details TRAILS: Runners will have 4 hours to complete 3 separate loops on the Crevasse Moraine trail system. There will be a 5 mile, 3 mile, and 1 mile loop. At bib pick up, each runner will spin the wheel to determine the order of their loops. At the halfway point of each loop, runners must find a hidden book and tear out the page that matches their bib number (Barkley style) and return their page to the RD at the completion of that loop. The first M/F runners to complete all 3 loops and turn in their 3 pages will be the winner. NOG: After runners have finished their trail loops they can participate in the valley's first Nog Mile (like a Beer Mile but more festive). Come join us as we celebrate the start of running season in Alaska with the Valley Thaw Out Races!   Grab your friends, family, and cohorts and sign up to run some spring miles together! There is a distance for everyone at this family friendly race. Races include a kids Fun Run, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and NEW this year...a Full Marathon.
