Race Date: March 20, 2027 Race starts at 9 AM Race day registration and packet pick-up start at 7:30 AM at the Brunswick Hotel, 39 West Grand Ave., Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Water stops at mile 2.5, 5.5, 7.5 & 9.5 / Display clocks at 5K and 10K / Mile markers 1-13, 5K & 10K mile markers. All runners receive a custom finisher’s medal. NEW MEDALS THIS YEAR BIG & BEAUTIFUL First 100 runners receive a custom magnet. Custom race bib. Long sleeve technical shirts are $15.00 extra. Please pre-register for tech shirts by 03/03/27. Note that unisex sizes are available, but women should size down. Tech shirts cannot be purchased on race day. 5K Sports Race Management provides mac & cheese and salad for the runners only. If runners want to buy food for family or friends, it $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids on race day. The Breakaway 5K and Marilyn & Nat Golzbein Memorial Fun Run are the principal fundraisers supporting scholarships for Old Orchard Beach High School graduates. The scholarships are awarded by the MAPS Scholarship Foundation, a group of retired educators and former students from OOB who aspire to support the continuing education of OOB High School graduates. 100% of the proceeds directly benefit the MAPS Foundation. In 2025, MAPS Scholarship Foundation granted sixteen $1000 scholarships to Old Orchard Beach High School graduates. The race start location is at the corner of Walnut St. & Milliken St. in front of the public parking lot. The course follows Milliken St. and West Grand Avenues to Ocean Park and back to the finish at The Brunswick. The course is mostly flat and fast. PR's Very Possible!!
