Join us for the 16th annual Race the Helix-Greenwood race, inspired by one family's desire to raise awareness for genetic disorders and funding for genetic research! Please join us at the Greenwood Uptown Market on September 26, 2026 for a Walk/Run 5K to support suicide prevention. Proceeds will go to benefit suicide prevention in and around Greenwood County. Many lives are touched daily all over the country by suicide. The effects of suicide in a family are life-altering. Join the efforts being made to see that suicide decreases in Greenwood County and across South Carolina. It all begins with YOU! This event has been planned in memory of Tad Justesen.

Push your limits at The Grace Park Ultra, a unique endurance challenge set on a 2.1 mile trail loop in the heart of Greenwood SC. Runners have 12 hours to complete as many loops as possible. Whether you're aiming for a personal milestone or going for the win, this race is all about spending time in nature, being around friends, and testing your body and mind. Expect rolling terrain, hand cut singletrack trails as well as traditionally packed walking paths. Whether you are an ultrarunning veteran or this is your first ever endurance event, The Grace Park Ultra is your chance to test yourself, enjoy the trail, and celebrate every loop you complete! Format: Stage your gear near the start of the loop Complete as many laps as you can around the loop within the 12 hour time limit Participants can end their race at any time during the 12 hours and will be credited with that amount of laps The male and female runners who complete the most laps wins If a tie occurs the faster time on the final lap wins

This 5k will benefit the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship Lakelands District and its Good News Clubs. The course is an off-road course through the woods around Greenwood Christian School. We will also be saluting the military members at this race in conjunction with the 250th birthday of America and offering a trophy for the branch of the military with the quickest 5K time. The overall 1st place male and female will win $200 with those under 18 getting the equivalent of $200 in merchandise should they win in order to maintain NCAA standards. The over 50 top male and female winner will receive a $100 prize. Come join us for a fun 5K run/walk through the beautiful Gatewood neighborhood on Thanksgiving Day starting at 8am!  Online Registration ends Monday 11/23 at 6pm!!!! Kids under 10 are free!  Sign up early for the lower cost of $25.  We will have sign up available on race day at the start beginning at 7 am for $30. Please bring cash or check.  This race features stunning autumn views passing the peaceful ponds and magnificent woods of Gatewood subdivision.  The course is paved and rolling in terrain with minimal traffic. All abilities and ages are welcome. Prizes will be given to the overall male and female runners, overall masters male and female winner and to age group winners in 10 year increments. We offer terrific post race goodies for breakfast including homemade pumpkin bread, hot coffee and hot chocolate.  Registration can be with or without a t shirt, but sign up by November 9th at 6pm to order a shirt! We may have a few additional ones for sale on race day, but no guarantees.
