Join us on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Kilby Laboratory School in Florence, Alabama, for the 3rd Annual Kilby Cub Dash 5K & 1‑Mile Fun Run—a high‑energy, family‑friendly community race with a purpose. Whether you’re a competitive runner, a casual jogger, or a family looking for a healthy weekend activity, this event is the perfect way to get moving and make an impact. The day kicks off at 8:00 AM with our certified 5K course, professionally mapped and timed by Race Ready Events, followed by a 1‑Mile Fun Run at 9:00 AM for runners and walkers of all ages. Description: A cool summer cross country camp at beautiful McFarland Park in Florence, Alabama, for all aspiring middle and high school cross country athletes! Whether a beginner or seasoned vet in the sport, you will be able to experience meaningful training and coaching from the University of Tennessee Southern coaching staff. All Fall 2026 7th - 12th graders are welcome to register. There will be appropriate training groups for everyone! Join us at McFarland Park for a morning full of fun! The Howl-O-Ween Dash is a family-friendly 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run benefitting the Florence-Lauderdale and Colbert County Animal Shelters. The morning kicks off with a 5K route, followed by a 1-Mile Fun Run that ensures runners, walkers, and furry friends of all ages get their chance to participate, race, and win. You don't have to have a pet to sign up and participate, but pets are heavily encouraged to attend in their best costume to run the race and compete in our pet costume contest! While the pets take center stage, owners are encouraged to join the fun and dress up with their pets. Get ready to run, walk, and make a difference at the Stardust Color Run in beautiful Florence, Alabama! This fun-filled, family-friendly event brings our community together to support two incredible causes that are changing lives right here in the Shoals. Proceeds from the Stardust Color Run will benefit Shoals United Stars, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and the Stardust Club of Florence Leadership Scholarship. Shoals United Stars, Inc. provides school-age children with disabilities the opportunity to participate in organized recreational sports, including basketball, baseball, flag football, and other athletic activities. The program serves students throughout Lauderdale County who have cognitive or adaptive disabilities that significantly impact their ability to participate in traditional athletic programs. Through inclusive sports and recreational experiences, participants develop confidence, teamwork, friendships, and lifelong memories in a supportive environment. Funds

Run across the Tennessee River on historic Wilson Dam and return on the Singing River Bridge. Course USATF Certified 10K Course: AL16012JE The 10K course begins at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center in Florence, AL, and proceeds across Wilson Dam and then onto a portion of the paved TVA nature trail. It continues back across the Tennessee River via the pedestrian walkway on the Singing River Bridge, and then a short distance through a residential area to the finish back at the conference center. There will be a 90-minute time limit to complete the course. Please do not enter if you cannot maintain at least a 14:30 pace per mile. Due to courseconstraints there will be no wheelchair division. Baby joggers, strollers, and animalswill not be allowed on the course.
