Runners have two years to complete 8 races. No races may be repeated from the list except for the founding race- The Hogeye Marathon/Half Marathon. Races must come from the approved list. Join us Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Methodist University for the Step Up 4 Health & Wellness Expo! Back for its third year at MU, this event will support multiple patient care areas at Cape Fear Valley Health including Friends of the Cancer Center, Heart Care, CAP (Community Alternatives Program), CCMAP (Cumberland County Medication Access Program), Nursing Education Scholarship and Children’s Services. Join us for 4k and 1-mile walking routes and a Wellness Expo. The Wellness Expo will feature many CFVH service lines and is an opportunity for our community to come out and learn all that our health system has to offer. This portion of the event will be free to the public.

This race is all about Autism awareness and support!  The race takes off from Jordan Soccer complex and winds around on the Cape Fear River Trail and under the train trestle before returning back to the start. At the finish there will be snacks and refreshments to enjoy and celebrate your accomplishment.

Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.  High School: We also welcome our high school runners! WHATThe 9th annual Derby Run in Memory of Justin Lopes Presented by A.S.A.P Personal Training will begin at Terry Sanford High School. The 5K and 10K courses run through the scenic Haymount area as well as the Fayetteville Technical Community Campus and will finish near the Terry Sanford High School baseball field. There will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run and face painting, a selfie station and a silent auction. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.Back by Popular Demand for 2026! Love to ride?  This event has options for everyone!  Road riding, gravel grinder, paved trail system; there are courses for all riders, no matter your riding level!  Bring your club, team, friends and/or family for a day of excellent riding and relax with a beer and refreshments at the finish. Want to explore the back roads?  Our road options which get you out of town onto the open roads quickly, with mileage to meet your goals. Feeling more adventurous?  Or go for a gravel option. Our gravel course will take you south, out of Fayetteville and wind you through a variety of terrain.  First event ride?  Want to stay on the paved trail? We have that as well!  And enjoy some amazing aid stations...you may be surprised by the wide array of goodies provided our great sponsors. There’s a 5K for adults and older kids and a 1K Fun Run for the little ones. Don’t worry though, because there aren’t any real cow paddies to avoid. The name is just part of the tradition of this race, which has played a big part in developing Fayetteville’s pro-fitness, pro-fun culture over the years!     The Cow Paddy Run produced by The Spark Foundation focuses on helping students and families build habits for an active, healthy lifestyle. We offer a “pay-your-age” program for runners 5-12 and proceeds directly support physical education in local schools through the school participation prize. As part of our mission, we want the focus on running to be fun and accessible. ​The race offers two race distances, our 10 miler and 3 miler. 10 miler: If you are a local CNY runner, you know about our own little backyard gem - Green Lakes.  This race will take you through all the twists and turns of this beautiful park. The race starts at the sandy beach of Green Lakes and slowly winds its way around Round Lake and up towards, as the locals call it, the Serengeti. The race continues its way around the top before its descent to the lakes back to the beach. 3 miler:  Want to try your hand at trail racing; however, you want a shorter race distance? Test out racing around the 2 lakes!   The race starts at the sandy beach of Green Lakes and slowly winds its way around round lake and back to the beach. *Considerations before registering. The Hero Half Marathon is a fundraising race and community event hosted by The Spark Foundation in partnership with Fayetteville Firefighters’ IAFF – Local 2866. Bridge Day 5K RUN – October 17, 2026 Sponsored by West Virginia University Institute of Technology Don't miss your once-a-year opportunity to run across the New River Gorge Bridge on October 17th, 2026. Active SWV's Bridge Day 5K course starts on the North side of the NRG Bridge and gives runners the chance to take in the vast views from the bridge while running south towards the Court Street finish line in the town of Fayetteville. The start/finish location is Lake Wedington Recreation Area just outside of Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Lake Wedington is a US Forest Service Park and offers great amenities and a natural setting to come hang out for the weekend and enjoy some of the best gravel in the Ozarks of Northwest Arkansas.  4 gravel ride distances of 24, 40, 64 and 96 miles. Welcome to Fayetteville's only Half Marathon on the Cape Fear River Trail! All races will feature different routes and use the Cape Fear River Trail. This trail is a beautiful, paved greenway trail along the Cape Fear River. The start and finish line will be at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. There will be on course support.  There will be no pets allowed at this event. This race will have an option to add on a VIP experience. This includes a private heated tent for VIPs only, VIP only refreshments, Bag storage, and VIP line for early packet pick up. Limited to 35 entrants.

The Spark Foundation is all about encouraging our community to get active and stay active. In keeping with our mission we have eliminated age group awards for the Turkey Trot, we want the person who motivates you to be, YOU! **Due to a high volume of registrants for the Turkey Trot-N-Trek, participants who register for the 5K after 11/19/25 will not be guaranteed a beanie or medal.   **1K participants will NOT receive a beanie at the Turkey Trot-N-Trek, but will receive a finisher medal.  We can't wait to see you on race day!
