Mini-Milers: Early Spring 2026

The goal of the Mini Milers is to promote the activity of running through fun, dynamic running-related games and exercises. We want to help your children increase their respective levels of endurance by working up to a consistent regimen of running by the end of the program. Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate with their children! We offer multiple programs a year in Spring, early Summer, and in the Fall. Play It Forward Spring Running Clinics

Play it Forward, an inclusive initiative to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and community engagement, particularly for underprivileged youth in the Durham public school system. This free program will be accessible to all children aged 5-13, regardless of financial background, addressing the inequities of traditional “pay to play” sports. The program will include two winter sessions and more in the spring where children participate in a structured running clinic that teaches running basics, warm-ups and cool-downs, pacing, and essential life skills like goal-setting. Each child will set a personal running goal and participate in milestone challenges, culminating in a fundraiser race to celebrate their achievements. 23rd Annual Carrie Shoemaker 5K

On 7:00pm Friday, April 10th, 2026, The Duke University Naval ROTC Battalion in conjunction will Bull City Running Company will host the 23rd Carrier Shoemaker 5k, honoring the life of former Midshipman Carrie Shoemaker, who was tragically killed on October 26th, 2001, by a drunk driver. Sundays, April 19 - May 17, 2026Duke Park, Durham A 5-week, fun-focused running program for kids aged 4-10 years old! Kids Run Durham introduces kids to running in the form of a loosely structured “track meet” that allows participants to explore distances ranging from 100 meters to 1 mile. Participants will receive a personalized race bib, finishing time each week, and a custom Kids Run Durham tee! Each session features a group dynamic warm up, and we invite local experts to teach kids tips and techniques for building healthy, active habits. Guest speakers address a variety of topics relevant to health, wellness, and running such as physical activity, nutrition, sportsmanship, and proper running form.**We offer a 3pm and 4pm session, which you can select when you register!

Bull City Beer Mile

The Glass Jug Beer Lab and Bull City Running Co. are proud to present the 5th annual Bull City Beer Mile on Saturday, April 25, 2026 in Downtown Durham's Central Park.   What is a Beer Mile? A 1-mile drinking race combining running and speed drinking. Typically, the race takes place on a 1/4-mile running track (flat). We will be running around Central Park (not flat!). The race begins with the consumption of a 12-oz beer (RUN DRM lager brewed by The Glass Jug Beer Lab), followed by a 1/4 mile lap around the park. The second lap continues similarly; another 12-oz beer is consumed before commencing the running of the second lap. This process is repeated for the next two laps. Following the completion of the fourth beer and fourth running lap, you will cross the finish line! Competitors must be 21 years old or older.
