The 17th Annual Durham Academy Turkey Trot

Registration and Event Details: Gobble 'Til You Wobble! The turkeys are back for Durham Academy's 17th Annual Turkey Trot! Join us at the Upper School campus for a 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026. This in-person event includes a competitive 5K — open to runners and walkers of all ages — a Fun Run event for all our trotters in grades 4 and under, and the Middle School Mile! Our 5K is USA Track & Field-certified with chip timing for immediate results. Friends, family and members of the Durham Academy community are encouraged to join us for a morning of exercise, food truck treats, and field activities! * There will be same day registration, but please register in advance for a stress-free experience on race day, and to guarantee your T-shirt! * Prizes will be awarded for division top runners. * Please leave your four-legged friends at home. Want a Turkey Trot t-shirt? Registrants prior to Wednesday, Oct. 28th will receive a t-shirt which is included as part of the race fee for 5k participants. Fun Run participants can purchase a t-shirt for a fee as long registration is done BEFORE the 28th. Turkey Trot 5K and Fun Run Timeline: Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026 9 a.m.: Meet at the Upper School athletic fields for bounce houses, food trucks, a photo booth, and games10 a.m.: 5K race start time, meet in front of the Lower School10:40 a.m.: Middle School Mile on the Upper School track (new for 2026!)11 a.m.: Fun Run - kids grades PK-4th are divided into grade-level heats on the Upper School track for the chance to catch the “turkey” before it makes it around the track Until 12 p.m. closing: Enjoy food trucks and field activities for the whole family Please consider volunteering at the event--volunteer shifts are available before and after the 5K and help make this event fun for all!
