For the past several years the Lion club members of OH6 have put on our STEPS 1K walk/ 5K Run for Pediatric Cancer Research. All the money raised goes to support pediatric cancer research at our Dayton/Cincinnati Children's Hospitals. This is a Fun Event for all ages with Costume judging, 5K Awards and 1K walking Certificates. With the help of this Event, we have donated over $1000,000 to our two area Children's Hospitals. Come join us to help in this cause. Every Year around 91,250 children lose their lives to cancer. 1/285 children in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 20. It is the number 1 killer from disease in children 15 & younger. Despite these facts, childhood cancer research is vastly and consistently underfunded.

Join us at the beautiful Angel Lagoon for a morning at the beach! This LADIES ONLY race will include a Sprint Triathlon and Relay as well as a Duathlon for those just not ready for the water. Your open water swim will be in the crystal clear waters of the Angel Lagoon where your race will end and the fun begins on their white sand, palm tree-lined beaches. The Sprint Triathlon will consist of a 300 meter swim, an 8-mile bike and a 5k run. The Duathlon will start with a 1 mile run and then the same 8-mile bike and 5k run as the Sprint Tri. All athletes will finish along the beach and be greeted with margaritas and more, and you are welcome to stay and enjoy all the amenities of the lagoon after. You'll swear you were in the Caribbean and not Houston! All athletes will receive a custom race bib and tech t-shirt/singlet along with other yet-to-be-determined, Island-appropriate swag. The Ohio River Road Runners Club is providing CPR and AED Training through the American Heart Association to interested members, with priority given to the timing team, race directors, and frequent volunteers who are at many of our events. The training will be at the Fritz Hall on University of Dayton Campus, 10am-3pm on November 1, 2026. The United Way of Rhea County Jingle Bell Run is a festive, family-friendly way to kick off the holiday season while supporting local families! The race begins and ends at the United Way of Rhea County office, 224 4th Avenue, Dayton, TN, with a start time of 8:30 AM. Street parking is available throughout the surrounding area, and restrooms will be available inside the United Way office. Participants can choose the 5K race ($35) or the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk ($20). Packet pickup ( Bib and T- Shirt) will be held December 4th at the United Way of Rhea County Office 224 4th Avenue, Suite 101, Dayton, TN 37321 from 5:00–7:00 PM, with race-morning pickup at the United Way of Rhea County office from 6:30–8:00 AM. And don’t just register—create a team! We’re adding a Jingle Bell Run Team Challenge this year and encouraging everyone to grab some coworkers, friends, neighbors, church members, or family and run or walk together. Teams will compete for trophies and bragging rights for Largest Business Team, Largest Family/Friends Team, and Most Festive Team. Christmas costumes are absolutely encouraged—for people and pups! When it comes to college basketball, THE ROAD STARTS HERE! Dayton, Ohio has been host to the annual NCAA First Four for years. Now, with the expanded NCAA tournament field, Dayton will host 6 games... thus, 6k instead of 4-miler for 2027! As in prior years, the Big Hoopla in Dayton is about more than just basketball; it's severall days of activities, and we tip off all the fun with the Big Hoopla 6k on Selection Sunday, March 14, 2027. For 2027, the Big Hoopla race along with the STEM Challenge returns to Wright State University. All participants receive a super soft tech tee, custom finisher medal and lots of post-race food. 2026 Jasper Mountain Trail Fest Video Jasper Mountain Trail Fest is a fundraising event that benefits Jasper Mountain Reserve, an environmental 501(c)3 non-profit organization to improve and enhance wildlife habitats for rare and endangered flora and fauna native to the Blue Mountains in the Southeast corner of Washington State.
