West St. Tammany YMCA is excited to announce our 3rd Annual 1 mile and 5K walk/run on Saturday, May 9, 2026.  Both events start and finish at the YMCA.  Route runs through neighboring Terra Bella.  YMCA's nationally recognized "HEALTHY KIDS DAY" events will immediately follow race. Bring your swim trunks.  Our pool will be open.  All participants are welcome to enjoy. Be sure to register by April 30th to receive a race t-shirt. NOT A RUNNER...NOT A PROBLEM! 2026 Power of Pearl Lung Cancer Walk

St. Tammany Health System invites you to the 4th Annual St. Tammany UNITED in Lung Health — Power of Pearl Lung Cancer Walk. Join survivors, and families and friends as they walk to promote lung cancer awareness or walk in memory of a loved one who harnessed the Power of Pearl during their journey. Enjoy inspirational survivor stories, live music, great food, and countless resources. In our Resource Village medical experts will provide education on lung cancer prevention; screening options to identify lung cancer in its early stages when survival rates are highest; and risk factors and screening options if you or a loved one is at high-risk for lung cancer. Tammany Turkey Trot

The Tammany Turkey Trot takes to the streets of Covington again on Thanksgiving morning. Ready to experience the history of downtown Covington, or show it off to your visiting family and friends? Here’s your chance to #EarnYourTurkey! Athletes will start their Thanksgiving run just north of downtown Covington. From there, both 5K and 5 mile runners will make their way through downtown and into the splendor of moss-covered trees that line the streets. Close to St. Paul’s High School runners will head slightly west before turning north. From there, it’s a return trip for the finish line at the St. Tammany Courthouse! 5 Mile runners will finish their Turkey “tour” with a scenic jaunt further south past more beautiful homes before rejoining with the 5K course and heading north back to downtown. The 1 Mile Fun Run option will start at 7:30am prior to the 5K and 5 Mile Run.
