Registration is open! Rain or shine! Sunday, March 29th 10:00 a.m. start time.  The Urban Environmental Challenge is the first true trail race in the five boroughs! Prepare for a rugged, technical trail race in historic Van Cortlandt Park in the heart of the Bronx. 10k  race for runners only. While the COVID-19 vaccination is not required at this time, we ask that all participants remain at home if they are not feeling well. Requirements and restrictions are subject to changes, as the situation evolves. However, the health and safety of all participants will remain our overriding consideration in any decisions.   $35 pre-registration, $40 race day. Healthy Kids Running Series Spring 2026 - Bronx, NY

Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.  High School: We also welcome our high school runners! The Van Cortlandt Park 50k Founded in 2023 this ultramarathon is designed for a novice to be able to safely complete while also remaining challenging for experienced runners to be able to enjoy a fast time testing their endurance. The course is ten loops of the classic cross country course after an initial lap of the flats. There are rocks and roots but they’re not plentiful. Overall elevation is about 2200ft The aid station will be fully stocked with water and gatorade, salty and sweet snacks, fruits and more.You’ll also have easy access to any drop bag you want with your personal items/hydration/nutrition no longer than 1.5 miles away at the furthest point.
