Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon and 5k on Thursday, November 26. The race will take place at Southern WV Community and Technical College in Williamson, West Virginia. The Half marathon runs through 2 states - West Virginia and Kentucky. The half marathon starts from the community college and runs along a neighborhood/school and onto the river path and comes out on Armory road. After that, it comes out on US 52 and up towards watertower hill. You turn left facing traffic as you enter on US 119 North for 7.45 miles. There you cross traffic and run down US 119 South towards Fairview Addition and finish back at the community college. 5k race starts from the community college and runs along the same neighborhood/school and onto the river path and comes out on Armory road and goes straight towards the waterstop turnaround point. From there, you come running back towards the community college. You do not run back on the river path. One mile walk is a down and back course. Go half a mile down and back. Start from the community college and walk .50 down and come back.

Double out and back on 2 rail trails. The first section is about 5 miles long, is paved & goes through the historic & restored Meredith Tunnel. The second trail is on crushed limestone & has a scenic view of the Monongahela River. Long sleeve tech shirts if registered by Dec 19th 2026. A very limited number of shirts may be available for same-day registration, so please pre-register online or via mail. All finishers will get a nice custom finisher memento! Event benefits Literacy Volunteers of Marion County (LVMC), a United Way agency & a 501(c)(3) tax exempt entity. LVMC facilitates free one on one tutoring in a friendly, confidential setting. Tutoring is provided for both adults and children in reading, math & English as a second language (ESL). Same-day registration and packet pickup begin at 11:30am on race day! Pre-race meeting 12:50pm at the starting line directly below the church on the hill.

8th Annual Canaan Valley Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K  Join us for the 8th Annual Canaan Valley Half Marathon, 10k & 5k, April 25 - 26, 2026! Hosted at Canaan Valley Resort, in Tucker County, West Virginia, in the heart of the Potomac Highlands. This road race takes place in one of the East Coast’s most idyllic settings and is just a short drive to any outdoor activity you could want. The area is also home to two amazing and eclectic mountain towns full of arts and culture. So if you are looking for a new Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K to run and need a mountain vacation or just a getaway for the day or weekend, we are the race for you! Once again we will be offering all distances on both Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26! We have reserved the entire Canaan Valley Resort for the weekend to create an Epic Destination Running Experience. You are welcome to come for the day, but we'd love it if you spent the weekend with us.  This year we will also be bringing back our Kids Race

HALF MARATHON:The Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon begins at 8:00 a.m. (Wheelchair division 7:50 a.m.) in downtown Parkersburg and is the RRCA WV State Championship. The rolling course will take you out of the city and into the scenic surroundings of West Virginia before looping back into the commercial area. You will finish the race to the cheers of thousands of spectators lined up on Market Street prior to the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival Parade.   All participants in the Half Marathon will get a tech shirt, pre-race pasta dinner, finishers medal, & post-race pizza luncheon.   TWO MILE RACE:Starting line is at Third and Juliana streets at the Towne Square Parking Garage and the finish line is at Sixth and Market streets. Join us for the 6th Annual Moonlight on the Falls Marathon on August 29-30, 2026, at beautiful Blackwater Falls State Park in Tucker County, West Virginia. Beat the summer heat run with us under the stars and enjoy the perfect running temperatures of our cool late summer mountain nights.     This race will be a nighttime race featuring a Marathon, Half Marathon, Distance Challenge (Ultra Marathon), Relay, and Quarter Marathon. It will be an approximately 6.55-mile (Quarter Marathon) looped course beginning and ending at Pendleton Point in Blackwater Falls State Park. The Distance Challenge will begin at 10 PM and go until 7:45 AM with options to run Solo, 2 Person Relay, 4 Person Relay, and 6 Person Relay. This year, we’re celebrating the 10th anniversary of the marathon and the 7th anniversary of the half marathon.
