STEM 5K at Biddeford Middle School

Biddeford, ME
BMS STEM students are excited to host our Annual SPOOKY 5K this year. The idea for this race was born as a student-led project. Students work alongside their teachers in planning and hosting this event. The purpose is to promote positive community and to raise money for special STEM learning activities at BMS. The money goes toward field trips, maintaining STEM equipment, and other endeavors to enrich our students' experiences at school. In addition, students learn many other valuable skills as they work on various planning aspects of the project such as fundraising, marketing/design, course planning, and race officiating. This event takes place near Halloween, so costumes are encouraged! The course also contains Halloween themed decorations. There is an additional event that takes place during the 5K, called the Candy K. This fun event is geared toward children 10 and younger and includes age appropriate games and a 1 kilometer fun-run, during which participants collect candy and traverse through a decorated course. The 11th Annual Savage Family Turkey Trot 5k (Run/Walk)

South Portland, ME
Get ready for it.... THIS YEAR MARKS THE 11TH ANNUAL SAVAGE FAMILY TURKEY TROT!! It amazes me what we have accomplished as a community. I had no idea that this race would make such an impact on the families of South Portland and I have all of you to thank for it!! My kids (who were almost 7 yrs old at the time) and I decided to create this Thanksgiving morning event back in 2016 to honor their dad Nathan. Nathan was an avid runner, biker, triathlete and family man who lost his life to a fatal heart attack on July 2, 2016, just three weeks before he was set to compete in his first full Ironman event, and just months prior to his 40th birthday. We work solely as volunteers and give 100% of our profits back to the kids of South Portland. Most of the money has gone to the Nathan Savage Memorial Fund, a scholarship account through the South Portland Community Center that gives financial assistance to any child wanting to participate in one of their youth development programs. It has been a huge success. We also have given to such things as The South Portland Food Cupboard, The SoPo Skate Park, local soccer scholarships, shoe donations, etc. SINCE 2016 WE HAVE DONATED OVER $120K BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY!!! I would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support, as their donations pay for the cost of the race so that your registration fees go directly to the kids! We look forward to seeing you all next month! Thank you, thank you, thank you... Nellie, Reese, Maizie, and Charlie Savage

Indoor Insanity 5K 2027

Waterville, ME
Join us on Sunday, January 10, 2027, for a race event unlike any other in Maine. Get out of the cold and head indoors: no ice underfoot, no frigid gusts in your face, and no snow overhead! Who knew running in circles was so much fun? Music, camaraderie, and running! Walkers welcome. Why This Matters. Indoor Insanity 5K is a fundraiser to prevent lung cancer. Your race fees help pay for installation of radon mitigation systems in low-income Maine households. To minimize injury and "traffic jams", runners pick their preferred heat based on their average personal running speed. Heat # 1 - for the fastest runners (15-20 minutes 5k) Field will be limited to 30 runners. First come, first served sign ups Heat #2 - for the intermediate runners (20-27 minute 5k) Field will be limited to 75 runners. First come, first served sign ups Heat #3 - for runners of any level willing to take on the chaos of Indoor Insanity. Walkers: we have two dedicated lanes for walkers. Walkers start with Heat #1 Runners Kids Fun Run, too! The race is professionally chip-timed for accurate individual lap and finish times. Race fees are for race only. The deadline to purchase race shirts is December 22, 2026. We will have limited quantities available for purchase on the day of the event. First-come, first-served. Mile Light Ice Run 5k

Greenville, ME
The Mile Light Ice Run starts in downtown Greenville, Maine, and heads out across frozen Moosehead Lake toward the iconic Mile Light before turning south and returning to town. Locals know that enjoying Moosehead Lake doesn’t end with summer. We’re adding this race to our event lineup to share the vast beauty of our home in every season. Think wide-open views, fresh winter air, and running without the sand, salt, and mud of roadside miles. In March, warmer days and cold nights can create a remarkable running surface. The sun softens the winter snowpack, while overnight temperatures freeze it back into a firm, packed surface. Course conditions will depend on the weather, and sections will be groomed as needed to improve the running experience. After crossing the finish line, join us for a warm chili lunch inside The Rockwell Insurance Agency office at 35 Pritham Avenue, Greenville, ME 04441, served immediately following the race.

Race The Runways Half Marathon and 5K

Brunswick, ME
Race the Runways is back! Once a beloved Midcoast running tradition, this unique race returns to Brunswick Landing on Saturday, May 8, 2027, with a Half Marathon and 5K. Both courses are flat and fast, with plenty of room to settle into your pace and enjoy a course you won’t find at your average road race. For one morning, the runway belongs to the runners. (The planes will have to wait.) Whether you remember Race the Runways from years past or you’re joining us for the first time, we’re excited to bring this local favorite back. Come run with friends, train for your next race, take on a new distance, or just enjoy the novelty of running on a runway. It’s a pretty great setting for a race. Race the Runways is organized by Tedford Housing, a Brunswick-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering people to move from homelessness to home. Tedford supports neighbors across the Midcoast through several core programs: homelessness prevention and outreach, emergency shelter for adults and families, permanent supportive housing, and winter warmth services. Your participation helps make that work possible. So lace up, hit the runway, and help support a cause that matters right here in our community. Register early for the best price! Half Marathon registration is $60 and 5K registration is $35 through January 31, 2027. On February 1, registration increases to $70 for the Half Marathon and $45 for the 5K.
