I was fortunate and honored to accompany six Nepali athletes to the inaugural APTRC in South Korea in 2024. Team Nepal delivered an outstanding performance. Priya Rai finished 2nd in the 40KM, while Man Kumar Roka Magar finished 5th in the 80KM. Tirtha Tamang, Gopal Tamang, Tilak Sunuwar, and Rashila Tamang also performed extremely well, helping Nepal make a strong impression at the first-ever Asian Trail Running Championship. Now, a new group of athletes has the opportunity to continue that journey. It is their turn to carry Nepal’s name on their backs, compete alongside some of the strongest trail runners in Asia, and demonstrate the remarkable talent, endurance, and potential that exists within Nepal’s trail-running community. Why We Are Fundraising To help make this opportunity possible, we are organizing an In-Person and Virtual 5K Fundraising Run in support of the eight athletes traveling to China for APTRC 2026. Gem of the Highlands 5K

Norwood, OH
This is a celebration of everything that makes Norwood a true gem! Join your neighbors on November 7, 2026 to run or walk through some of our favorite streets in the beautiful presidential district of Norwood. Sponsorships help fund the race, along with improvements across Norwood Park System. To date, we've donated nearly $105K and hope to raise over $50K this year to increase community impact. 100% of proceeds will always go back to municipal needs and initiatives that benefit the community, with a focus on Norwood parks. Gem of the Highlands 5K first project was $16,000 to the basketball court restoration at Waterworks Park. As a completely volunteer-led organization, we will continue to focus our proceeds and donations on improving Norwood parks again this year. Just as important, we believe we created an event that residents and businesses can unite around with civic pride!

Dr. O Memorial 5K Walk/Run

Lewis Center, OH
Join us on Saturday, November 7, 2026, for the 3rd annual Memorial 3.1-mile (5K) run and 1-mile walk in honor of the legacy of Dr. John (Jack) O'Handley. Affectionately known as "Dr. O", Jack was the Medical Director of the Mount Carmel Street Medicine program for 25+ years, where he was a beloved physician, teacher, mentor, and friend to all. Dr. O was known by his patients to be a compassionate, loving, and gentle doctor, who loved a good corny joke. Dr. O practiced what he preached in living a very healthy lifestyle. He ran a 5K nearly every weekend with fellow colleagues, students, and friends, inspiring many to lead a more active life. The Street Medicine program provides no-cost medical care to individuals who are uninsured or underinsured. The mobile medical coach is accessible at nine locations across central Ohio and provides urgent care services for acute illness, infections, wounds, and unmanaged chronic disorders. Patients can also receive assistance with social needs such as food resources, specialty appointments, and connection to primary care. Three days a week, medical teams take to the streets, literally, bringing medical care to individuals living outside. The Street Medicine program has been in operation for forty years, reducing access barriers for those who are underserved. The Street Medicine program logs over 4,000 patient encounters annually. Proceeds from the race will support medical care provided in the community on behalf of the Street Medicine program. On the day of the race, the Street Medicine team will be collecting needed items that can be given a new life with patients. Good condition hoodies, athletic pants, and tennis shoes are needed for both men and women. Those bringing items to donate will be entered into a raffle drawing.
