The 40th Annual Great Turkey 5K Run & Gobbler Walk

Bowling Green, KY
The 40th annual family event includes a 3K Walk (7:30 am start) and 5K Run (8:00 am start) with Thanksgiving themed door prizes and awards, and it is the sole fundraiser for the Bowling Green Running Club's High School Athletics Program. Any high schools in the following counties are eligible to apply for financial assistance through the Bowling Green Running Club: Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Metcalfe, Ohio, Simpson, and Warren. BGRC hopes to aid programs that don't have enough funds to adequately outfit their Track / Cross Country clubs with items such as uniforms and equipment needs. The BGRC officers and board members will review all applications and award as many as possible with the available funds generated from the annual Great Turkey 5K. Due to participant volume and separate start / finish locations, the 5K event is a gun start / chip finish event. It is strongly recommended that 5K participants pick up their bib chip during the early packet pickup to avoid long lines the morning of the event. ONLY Registered Runners and Walkers allowed on the course.

New Year 5K, 10K, & 13.1M at Richmond, KY (02)

Richmond, KY
US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish. Please plan for the weather, bring anything you may want between laps, and check in with race staff if you need help. View Race Course, Results, and Race Information on the US Road Running race page.
