We are excited to return for our annual Cogs & Kegs bike ride! This year's event will begin and end at Lincoln Yard in Birmingham.  The 30-mile route departs at 6:30 PM and is for experienced riders, keeping a fast pace around 18 miles/hour. This ride is not for the faint of heart, so please only choose this distance if you are a seasoned rider and can stay with the group. Casual riders are encouraged to choose the 10-mile route which will begin at 7 PM. Registration for both events will open at 5:30 PM.All riders will enjoy a post-ride celebration with dinner and a beer at Lincoln Yard upon their return. Bike racks will be available and monitored while participants enjoy their meal. Helmets are required, and both the 10-mile and the 30-mile routes will have police escorts for safety. The 250 cannonballs towed by Jim "The Shark" Dreyer in his 2026 historic swim to commemorate America’s 250th birthday may be purchased in honor of Combat Veterans for mounting with an accompanying plaque on the U.S. 250th Combat Veterans Memorial. This tribute will forever honor loved ones (living or deceased) who sacrificed to serve our country in combat on this most unique memorial. For more information on the Swim and Memorial project, please see the WEBSITE and/or CONTACT US. Plaques will be numbered so they can easily be located when visiting the Memorial in Whitehall, Michigan.​ After applications are approved following a review of the honoree's combat service and honorable discharge (if applicable), commemorators will receive a link to write tributes for their honorees and may submit them along with photos and videos to be viewed online by Memorial visitors when scanning a QR code. Commemorators will receive a photo of their cannonball and plaque (after they are mounted on the Memorial) that also contains a QR code, so they may access their honoree's online tribute from a display in their own home. 2026 Vitality 5K This is a family event, and we welcome All runners and spectators.   Saturday, June 20, 2026,  The race begins 8am at Lakeview Community Wellness Center (LCWC); the Finish is at LCWC.   Our race events benefit health awareness in our community and Lakeview Community Wellness Center, Our Community Non-Profit Fitness center.    Early registration is $35.00 and ends on Sunday, May 18th.  Late registration begins $40.00 from May 19th until race day. Michigan Men's Health Foundation's annual Run for the Ribbon 5K takes place Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, 2026 at 8 a.m. at the Detroit Zoo to support prostate cancer survivors and those who love them. The 51st Annual Pictured Rocks Road Race is set for Sunday, June 28, 2026 in the scenic town of Munising, Michigan — the gateway to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This year’s event features a Half Marathon RUN and 10K RUN/WALK, both offering a mix of paved roads and rustic two-track trails. The half marathon includes roughly 3 miles of dirt, along with two 300-foot climbs that will put your legs to the test. The 10K shares the first of these climbs along the dirt road section. RACE LOCATION: Richland Gull Lake High School, 7753 N 34th St, Richland, MI  49083The 2025 Race Location (Start/Finish) will be at the High School.  This is the same location as last year. About Kathy's Run for Cancer: Kathy was diagnosed over the Memorial Day Weekend in 2023 with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.  While there is no cure for this disease it is very treatable. Kathy has undergone multiple radiation and chemotherapy treatments.  After twelve weeks she’s had a great response to the treatment and is now only getting immunotherapy infusions every three weeks. Kathy is a fighter, and her great attitude has been instrumental to her positive results. By supporting our local cancer centers and education Kathy feels this turns a difficult situation into something very positive.  The opportunity to revamp this race came at the right time as the committee for the Rose Run decided to step away.  Kathy has gotten incredible care at the Bronson Cancer Center along with the West M

The Gene Bednarowski Memorial Run has traditionally been run on the 4th of July weekend, and this year is no exception to that rule. We are actually running on July 4th this year.   The event is in memory of Gene Bednarowski, a former Watervliet mentor, teacher, and coach. Proceeds support the Watervliet Track and Field Program. At one time in the history of this event, there was also a 10K race and we are hoping to bring that back this year as well, providing we can get the approval from the State of Michigan.  If the approval comes through, the race will be run through neighborhood streets, along the scenic Paw Paw Lake and through the city of Watervliet.   We are also happy to be partnering with the Fruitbelt Run Series again.  This race can now count towards the completion of Fruitbelt series, which allows competitors to run a series of 5 races which will result in a series medal.  This year's prize is a special medal commemorating the 20th year. About 4.5 miles across as the swim starts in Mackinaw City and ends at Bridgeview Park in St.Ignace. Expect water temperature to be anywhere from 57 degrees to 70.
