The WMRT Marathon/half marathon/10k is back for the 11th edition in 2026. The course is the same, the history is the same, BUT the race has been renamed for one of Washington County Maryland's greatest distance runners and the creator of the JFK50 Miler, Buzz Sawyer.  Frank and Mike of Altis Endurance have passed the race on to Katie and Adam Lowe of 2Lowe Run Company to continue the race's traditions.The Buzz Sawyer Western Maryland Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K is set for Sunday October 18th, 2026. The City of Rockville, in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club (MCRRC), welcomes all to participate in this fall running tradition. The 10K and 5K run along the streets of the King Farm community for a scenic and challenging, yet rewarding, course. It is an ideal venue to cap off your summer/fall training and kick off the upcoming winter running season. Participants of all abilities are welcome, but please note that a 15:00 min/mile pace will be enforced due to permitting requirements and the re-opening of roads. Participants who fall behind a 15:00 min/ mile pace will be moved to the sidewalk. Walkers are encouraged to participate in the 5K distance only due to the road closure restrictions. Strollers are permitted - we ask that anyone pushing a stroller seed themselves in the back of the field at the start of the race they are running. Welcome to the MCRRC Stone Mill 50 Mile Run!   This 50 mile trail run showcases the beauty of both the Seneca Greenway and Muddy Branch trails in Montgomery County, Maryland. The course traverses forested, rolling terrain on a primarily single track, dirt trail.  There are small stream crossings.  Most of the course drains well, but parts can be muddy in wet weather. Volunteer! As a participant in this event, we ask that you commit to volunteer 6 or more hours before race day with your local running club, any local race, work on the trails or any other running-related non-profit organization (such as Girls on the Run, Let Me Run, etc.).  This is done on the honor system.  No proof will be requested.

The Allegany County FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) has hosted the Narrow Way race annually since 2019 to generate scholarship funding to send more students to local and regional FCA camps.  Students that attend these camps often have life changing experiences. The City of Gaithersburg, in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club, invites all runners and walkers to participate in a 5K Run/Walk in the magical setting of Gaithersburg’s Winter Lights Festival at Seneca Creek State Park. Winter Lights features more than 380 illuminated vignettes and 65 animated displays. Runners and walkers will utilize the roads through the Park during the race. MedStar Health's 22nd Annual CHS XC Turkey Trot is a time honored Catonsville tradition. A prediction run is entirely different from other races that you’ve run in the past. Rather than finishing first or running the fastest, the object of a prediction run is to finish as close to a certain time as possible. In the case of the Howard County Striders prediction runs, the goal is to finish as close to 11:00am as possible. One way the Striders prediction runs differ from many other runs is that you get to start whenever you want – whoever finishes closest to 11:00am wins. Oh, and one important thing, you CANNOT use any sort of timing device. Also, no baby strollers, iPods, headphones or animals. Next Step Hibernation to 5K is a no frills, get to work right away program to encourage a quick start to the new year. This program is for both beginning runners and more experienced adult runners (18+) that just need to get off the couch after a long winter! Although we only train as a group once a week, participants should expect to be devoting time for 3-4 workouts each week in order to maximize their progress.

PHUNT 25K & 50K TRAIL RACE DISTANCE: 25K & 50K (two loops) DATE: Saturday, January 16th, 2027 WHEN: 50K starts at 8 a.m., 25K starts at 9 a.m.  End time is 5 p.m. CUT-OFF: AS3 at 4 p.m., which gives participants an hour to travel 4 miles to the finish. WHERE: Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area START/FINISH: Edward L. Walls Activity Hall.The hall is at the intersection of Ranger Skinner Drive & Kennel Road., Elkton, MD 21921.  Use 4640 Telegraph Road for navigation apps. FEE: Online: $40 + processing fee FIELD: Maximum 600 runners, no exceptions. AMENITIES: All finishers will receive a medal and swag item(buff, beanie, pint glass). The activity hall(start/finish) is heated, w/ full kitchen and restrooms. Capacity is 400, so there will be room to leave your gear, or change of clothes. Our course in Perryville Park is USATF Certified and flat 'n' fast. Price will increase to $30.00 beginning on January 27, 2026.  Race day pricing, if available, is $35. 1M (untimed) participants are $5.00 less in each category. Parking is available in Perryville Park, see Parking Map for details.  Race day packet pickup will begin onsite at 7:30 am.  A portion of the race proceeds plus any donations will benefit the National PTSD Foundation.

https://4stepstrp.org This 5K trail race will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2027 at the Wicomico Ranger Station on Sixty Foot Road in Parsonsburg, MD.  The race will start at 9:00 AM  The race will run through forested trails in the beautiful Wicomico Demonstration Forest. Come and check out this beautiful new location.  This event will be our 2nd annual 5K that has run on this trail and we are excited to host this event!  Our first 5K was amazing and we had wonderful feedback from our participants! We are back and bigger than ever! After last year's sell-out crowd, we are adding a competitive bracket (must run under 7:30 minutes per mile) that will start at 8:10, our full kick-off at 8:40 am, and our family fun-run/walk at 9:50 am.This indoor 5K takes place entirely inside the mall! It will give runners and walkers the rare chance to run the mile‑long loop of Arundel Mills without braving the cold! Choose between completing multiple loops for the full 5K or opting for our family‑friendly fun run or walk, featuring a shorter distance perfect for kids and new runners. This race takes place before the mall opens! It is not intented to be a course to set a personal best, but we can promise it will be a fun and unique one! All finishers will receive a medal! **This race is hard capped. If you can still sign up, there is space! Once we hit our cap, we will have to welcome you next year!
