Join us on the Brooks Century on Saturday, May 16th.  This is our third annual charity ride conducted by the SouthSide Cycling Club to benefit local youth cycling teams and community bike projects. DESCRIPTION:Your Century ride will travel on low-speed roads in Fayette County from Brooks, Georgia past historic farms in Woolsey and Inman, North Fayetteville to the Piedmont Fayette Wellness Center in Trilith Village - the home of Trilith Studio. The ride continues through Tyrone to Peachtree City, returning to Trilith and Brooks.  Century riders after a Brooks Rest stop will continue onward to finish their ride back at Brooks. An estimated 1 million people in the United States are living with a primary brain tumor, and approximately 94,390 more will be diagnosed this year. Glioblastoma is the most commonly occurring primary malignant brain tumor, accounting for 14.3% of all tumors and 50.1% of all malignant tumors. For malignant brain tumor patients, the five-year relative survival rate following diagnosis is 35.7%. For the most common form of primary malignant brain tumors, glioblastoma, the five-year relative survival rate is only 6.8% and median survival is only 8 months. Your mission is to carry your Hero up the gravel road to the top of the hill to honor their sacrifice. When you get to the top, there will be a large Hero board, an American flag, and a cast iron Freedom bell. AWARE Wildlife Night Owl 5K

The Night Owl 5K is a run/walk through Panola Mountain State Park, just outside of Atlanta, with all proceeds benefitting AWARE's mission of wildlife rehabilitation and education! We accept injured and orphaned native Georgia wildlife, like an owl hit by a car or a baby opossum that lost its mom. We heal their wounds if they're injured, raise them up if they're orphaned, always with the goal of returning them to the wild. On race day, non-releasable AWARE wildlife will be there to cheer you on from the sidelines and greet you at the start/finish. You'll get pictures with the animals, a t-shirt, a chance to win medals, and more. About half our participants walk, so it's suitable for runners/walkers of all ages and skill levels.
