The Spring Awakening 10k & 5k Run offers a scenic run along the Houghton canal and an opportunity to kick off your running season! With the snow melt and warmer temperatures of late April & early May, we all will feel a spring awakening! The course is an out and back on the bike path, giving you the full experience of the Keweenaw Waterway. All races will begin and end at Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton. The Spring Awakening 5k & 10k is a great way to jump into spring and early summer training. For those looking to complete the Canal Run Half-Marathon, our race can serve as a stepping stone into longer training and races! For those seeking a shorter distance, our 5k is a perfect match! If it's your first 5k or your winter slumber has gone on too long, follow along with our 6-week 5K training program leading up to the race.  Proceeds from this race will be donated to Special Olympics Area 39.  Don’t forget the kids! ForeShore Adventure Run is back for year ELEVEN. The lakeshore’s premiere 5k adventure run returns to Pere Marquette Beach on May 16, 2026, with new obstacles but the same mission: helping people to overcome life’s obstacles. The Bucket Run is a 5K run/walk benefiting Disaster Relief at Work's (DRAW) mission of providing relief services to communities that have been hit by natural disasters.  Registration/check-in on race day starts at 7:30a at Disaster Relief At Work’s warehouse location, 3549 Airport Rd, Waterford, MI 48329. Please join us for our fourth annual Mental Health Movement 2K | 5K | 10K Run-Walk! We, at Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority (NeMCMHA), aim to bring awareness to mental health in our four-county catchment area of Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, and Presque Isle, while also reducing the stigma of mental health.  All events are chip timed and can be completed by anyone! You can try for a personal best or simply enjoy the beauty of our river routes! Our 2K and 5K routes are wheelchair and stroller accessible, while our 10K route does have a street with curbs that must be crossed two times. The 2K and 5K events are available to all runners and/or walkers, while the 10K is geared toward runners. All participants will receive a race bib with chip timers to allow for accurate timing. The Upland Hills School Trail Runs will take place on May 16th, 2026 beginning at 9:30AM. Come join us for our annual 1 Miler, 5K and 10K Trail runs through Upland Hills School Campus. Upland Hills Farm and Bald Mountain State Recreation Area. All ages and fitness levels are welcome!  Eastside Racing Company will be providing Timing Services and live results! This is the 22nd anniversary of the Lory's Place Run, Walk and Rock to benefit Lory's Place, a Grief Healing and Education Center.  Every year, Lory’s Place is honored and grateful for the community’s support of Run Walk Rock. All of the programs and services at Lory’s Place are available at no charge. That means that no child or adult is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. The children, adults, and families who are part of Lory’s Place join us in expressing deepest gratitude to you for supporting our mission of grief healing. Since the opening of Lory’s Place bereavement programs in 2004, we have been honored to support over 63,000 children, teens and adults and after the death of a significant person. This year the walk will be held in 3 separate locations including Washington DC where the first event of the year will be held. That event will be on April 18th. The second walk will be held along the Macomb Orchard Trail on May 2nd with the Holland walk on May 16th being the last one of 2026. We are so honored to partner with our family, friends, and neighbors to stand together in this fight that many of our veterans battle alone. Join us in 1 or all 3 events and help us save lives. The Holland Walk will start in the parking lot of Holland State Park Beach with parking available along Lakeshore Dr or in the State Park with a park pass. This is an out and back trek.

Whether you run or walk, join us for the Annual Dragon Dash! This 5K certified course beginning and ending at the Wildwood Amphitheater and following the Polly Ann Trail north will kick off your training season. RUN the scenic river trail PADDLE the beautiful Shiawassee River RIDE  through city streets and country roads The mission of the Shi~Tri is to promote community fitness, provide a fun and challenging race that anyone can do and to support the work of the Friends of the Shiawassee River in their effort to share, care for and promote the enjoyment of the Shiawassee River.  The Shi-Tri is a Run/Paddle/Bike Triathlon beginning and ending in Downtown Owosso, MI along the beautiful Shiawassee River. Participants begin with an approximately 3.1 mile run/walk from downtown Owosso to McCurdy Park in Corunna. From there, you will launch your kayak or canoe into the river and paddle about 3.1 miles back to Owosso where you will then bike a ~9-mile loop through city streets and country roads. The events provided aid in the recovery from physical and emotional injuries sustained during conflict deployments and service to our country. The significance of the 30 Mile Army Ultra Challenge represents the 20 soldiers we lose to suicide each day plus the 10's of thousands of people effected by those tragedies.

Run Like a Mother 5K has returned after several years hiatus!  The run is hosted by Prentiss Pointe Apartments and Eastside Racing Company in Harrison Township.  There is a distance for everyone, including a 1 Mile run/walk and a 5K that will wind through flat residential streets.  Prentiss Pointe will be serving up a post race lunch of hot dogs and chips. Welcome our take on a race—a grueling, sweat-inducing, totally ridiculous 262-foot dash designed for champions of chug, in-and-around the Short’s Brewing Company production campus and ending with cheers at the Pull Barn. Join us for the first ever Short's Shortest Marathon. The walk back to the Pull Barn may be longer than the actual race but trust us: 262 feet is just long enough to justify wearing athletic gear so you can claim eternal bragging rights and a sweet race cup, all while raising funds for TART Trails' Nakwema Trailway Project. The Armed Services Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K honors all branches of our military as well as our first responders. This event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field and features a certified marathon course with USATF, making it a Boston and New York City Marathon qualifier. The marathon is also a qualifying event for the Abbott World Marathon Series. The half marathon is also a measured and certified course with USATF, making it a qualifying event for the New York City Marathon. The 5-K is a flat and fast course. All the courses start AND finish on the track inside the Grand Haven High School football stadium. The run courses are "Out and Back" routes, allowing you to enjoy aid stations every "1" mile.

On November 25th, 2020, during his tour of duty, our Dearborn Police family lost our colleague Sgt. Christopher Hampton to suicide. Chris was a wonderful human being, a caring friend, a loving son, brother and father, and an amazing Police Officer. The Dearborn Police Officer’s Charity decided to start this run/walk in 2021 in Chris’ memory, as his passing brought to light the importance of raising awareness of all those who suffer from anxiety, depressive and other mental health issues – particularly first responders, who often remain silent about these same struggles.   Partnering with the City of Dearborn and Trivium Racing, our inaugural event was a great success, heavily support by our community who turned-out to sponsor, support, volunteer and participate. 2025’s 5th 5K was our biggest and best so far. Welcome to the Pet Rescue Run!!  This 5k is for animal lovers and 5k enthusiast.  Please join us at the beautiful Columbus County Park in Columbus Michigan.  This is an officially timed trail run/walk that includes 100% grass and dirt trails.  You will encounter rocks, roots, an elevation incline/decline of approximately 55 feet and possible muddy conditions.  This is a rain or shine event. Celebrating its 44th Anniversary, the Bayshore Marathon has become a “must run” for runners throughout the Midwest and beyond. Many runners return year after year to enjoy the scenic courses which run along the shores of beautiful Grand Traverse Bay. Hosted by Traverse City Track Club, Bayshore features a 10K, half marathon a full marathon, and a kids 1.2 mile fun run. The number of runners in all three races is limited to ensure a more enjoyable experience. Traverse City Track Club uses proceeds from Bayshore to sponsor many running and health related activities in and around Northwest Michigan.
