Every year Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool (OCP) is proud to hold one of the best 5Ks for families in the Atlanta area. Started 18 years ago, our Beat the Street for Little Feet Race features a 5K, one-mile Fun Run, and Tot Trot. Everyone in the family can participate! Each year, James Dean, New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of the popular “Pete the Cat” picture books, creates an original Pete the Cat design for the race, which we feature on the T-shirts for participants. J.A.M. (Jude Academy Memorial) is an annual event to celebrate the legacy of Jude Rockwell Marler. All proceeds go to India to help educate school children. Lace up your sneakers, lean forward and get ready for the 12th Annual Tear Drop Half Marathon! If you’re looking for a fast and scenic half marathon then join us on Sunday, April 26, 2026! All distances will start on top of Fort Mountain at an elevation near 3000 feet and finish in Chatsworth, Georgia, for an over 2000-foot drop for the Half Marathon. All courses (13.1, 10K, 5K) are USAT&F certified for those participants that are looking to set a personal record or for a qualifying time at a race elsewhere. Chatsworth is 80 miles from Atlanta, 40 miles from Chattanooga and 10 miles from Dalton. The courses are on all paved roads and features 7 miles of 5-10% grade downhill for the 13.1, 5 miles downhill for the 10K and 2 miles for the 5K (which will improve your time :40- 1:20 per mile!) and then a flat to rolling finish. Again, this year the Half Marathon will run an out and back on top of the mountain, which runners will encounter several climbs (it's not all downhill). The

The Tri My Best Triathlon is an adaptive swim, bike and run event hosted by Tri My Best, a local nonprofit supporting the special needs community. At this event you will find adaptive bikes made to support individuals with varying disabilities, a therapeutic pool experience with swim instructors and a space to run, walk or ride. The Walk for Recovery is in remembrance of the 112,000 lives lost to overdose and addiction in 2023 as well as to educate and promote healthier drug-free lifestyles. Professionals and families fighting the stigma and disease of addiction will be holding discussion panels and we will have Memorial Tea Cup lighting ceremony in honor of those lost lives. CELEBRATING 32 YEARS OF LAUREN'S RUN & PICNIC For the last 31 years, hundreds of families have gathered to walk and run in support of CURE Childhood Cancer, raising more than $6.2 million for lifesaving pediatric cancer research. Lauren’s Run & Picnic, presented by AutoNation, truly brings the community together, with families, schools, and companies forming race teams to support our fight.   After the race, participants, as well as families diagnosed with childhood cancer, join together for the CURE Annual Picnic. This USATF certified route starts and finishes at Smyrna City Hall and is an out and back on Atlanta Road.  This route is flat and fast.  Great race for an AJC Peachtree Road Race Qualifying time. Due to upcoming floodgate maintenance by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the top of the dam and adjacent roads will be closed periodically throughout 2026. As a result, the course has been modified and will not cross the dam or access Highway 29. This year’s run will be limited to a 4K run/walk, and the 10K option will not be offered.We appreciate your understanding and hope these temporary adjustments will not discourage your participation. You can still expect a beautiful lakeside route and a great race experience!

17th Annual All About Animals Rescue Run/Walk May 2, 2026 Mt. Zion Baptist Chuch Rivoli Macon 1 mile, 5k, and the new QUARTER MARATHON distance.  All proceeds from this event go to support the many homeless dogs and cats living at our rescue shelter.

The Falcon 5K Run is an annual event that honors our military and commemorates Health & Wellness month.
