The Turkey Trot and Gobble Wobble are family-friendly events open to runners and walkers of all ages. There will be a 5k and 1 mile route that stays on the Little Neck Road path, but roads will not be closed. This isn't a timed race - it's a chance to celebrate fitness, friendship, and gratitude before the big feast. About This Race Join us for the VIA's 26th Annual Irvington Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, rain or shine. It's a scenic race through the neighborhoods in Historic Irvington for those serious competitors and a fun jog-walk-skip for the rest of us! The Turkey Trot is a “must-do” event for the Thanksgiving holiday on the Northern Neck of Virginia, and in the spirit of this tradition, a small portion of race proceeds will provide financial support to animal welfare organizations located here in Lancaster County. The Irvington Turkey Trot is organized by the dedicated volunteers of the VIA ~ the Village Improvement Association. There will be no race day registration. All 2-mile and 5-mile participants receive a custom race T-shirt while supplies last. Sign up early to get your beautiful and unique Race T. Awards for both the 2-mile and 5-mile races are given to the top three male and female participants overall, and top three male and female participants in age groups: 8 and under, 9-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over. The Richmond Road Runners Club will host a Turkey Trot 10k, 5k, and a half mile Kids Run on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, 26 November 2025 at Bryan Park. This is the second year with the new 10k route! The 5k route may seem familiar. The half mile Kids Run will begin at 8:30 AM. The 10k will begin at 9:00 AM. The 5k will begin at 9:30 AM. There will also be a virtual Turkey Trot 10k and 5k option that will take place over Thanksgiving weekend for those who can't make the in-person race. The 19th Annual Turkey Waddle 5k walk run held at Salisbury Presbyterian Church with the proceeds benefiting FeedMore and local hunger relief. This is a very family friendly event and very 'low key' as well with a simple race clock along with a few refreshments at the finish line. We can't believe it's been 18 years since we started this event and it's grown so much over the years thanks to all of you who have offered support through either food donations or via your registration fees. This informal, ungraded "homework" assignment asks you to apply materials from Day One to prepare for Day Two's group work. Day Two includes the business of coaching, sports psychology, nutrition for coaching, recognizing injuries and prevention, environmental factors that affect running performance, and building training programs as a group activity. Online Course Overview: The course will be team taught by RRCA coaching education instructors. Registration is limited to 35 participants to encourage a positive, interactive learning experience. Full attendance and participation is required during the course in order to complete the certification process. While every cohort receives the same curriculum, every cohort has a different dynamic, so the schedule may be modified to suit the specific needs of the weekend program. There will be opportunities for both written and spoken discussion and Q&A during the course. There will be small-group work on program development in breakout Zoom rooms. Instructors will take attendance at various points during both course days. The Zoom course may be recorded for the RRCA's use. A participant's course registration and attendance indicate understanding and agreement that all photos and videos will become the property of the RRCA. As part of the certification process, prospective coaches must provide proof of current CPR and First Aid certifications within 60 days after the course. The RRCA is accepting CPR and First Aid certifications that are completed online, in person, or in a hybrid format. The post-course exam will follow standard online exam protocols, in which participants are required to take the open-book exam without assistance from others. Prospective coaches will have 30 days after the course to complete the online exam. A score of 85/100 or better is required for certification. Waitlist Procedure: If a course has reached capacity, a prospective participant may register for that course's waitlist. The prospective participant will receive an email if space becomes available and will have 24 hours to complete the online registration process before the space is offered to the next person on the waitlist. Cancellation and Refund Policy: Participants may request withdrawal from a course and partial refund in the amount of $300 ($350 - $50 cancellation fee) up to 14 days before the course date. Come out and participate to be a part of the seventh annual fun festive holiday event that features a 5K run and a 5K walk. Live, Love, Run or Volunteer Tacky in support of EVMS Melanoma Awareness. A family-friendly, 1 mile fun run and race before the Chesapeake Rotary Christmas Parade will give you the chance to do exactly that. 30 minutes before the start of the Christmas parade, lace up and run, jog, or walk the route - under the lights - and being cheered on by thousands of your Chesapeake friends and family. Add to the festivities with Christmas lights, pjs, ugly sweaters and costumes (no full Santa costumes allowed - there’s only one Santa in the parade). Campus Recreation is proud to present the Reindeer Run 2 Mile Trail Race hosted at Hydaway Outdoor Center on Saturday, December 5, 2026. The Reindeer Run 2 Mile Trail Race is the 3rd trail race in the Liberty Mountain Trail Series. The course is comprised of an out and back on forest roads and has a special holiday theme! We encourage all runners to dress up in the spirit of the season and join us for cookies, cocoa, and treats after the race! RTRU takes place on December 5th, 2026 Run the River Ultra is Richmond’s first point-to-point Ultra Marathon. The route travels west on the Virginia Capital Trail, finishing in Richmond, VA at mile marker 51.7. Runners have the option to choose from 3 distances: Half Marathon 50K 51.7 Mile Spots are very limited, registration will be capped at around 25 participants. Your registration cost includes custom Run the River Ultra merchandise and aid stations along the way with hydration and nutrition. Runners will need to provide their own water bottles. JINGLE BELL 5K RACE We have a limit of 200 participants - sign up early. All participants are welcome… fast, slow, old, and young. Walk, run, skip, or hop your way at this festive event! Beautiful 5K through the scenic, mixed surface back nine cart paths of the Piankatank River Golf Club—this race is fast and flat with a kick of Grinch’s Hill at the end! Child Watch is provided during the 5K. Registration includes a long-sleeve race shirt and post-race festivities. Register for the 5k before November 20 to guarantee your desired shirt size. We love animals, but no pets are allowed at this event. Jogging strollers are permitted. KIP AND PATTY CAMPBELL KIDS FUN RUN This event is free for children of all ages. Children can run with Santa for a Fun Run through a short section of the course! Age group medals are not awarded for this event, but all participants receive a finisher's Jingle Bell and a goodie bag. FROSTY’S POST-RACE CELEBRATION Hot chocolate and popcorn will keep our Fun Run participants warm and energized while they visit with Santa! Holiday crafts, Christmas music, and more for the whole family!
