What is the WMC Memorial 5K Turkey Trot? The WMC Memorial 5K Turkey Trot is a community event being held to continue the tradition of the WMC Memorial Race started many years ago in memory of Kyleigh D’Alessio and Tanner Birch. Since then the race has also honored the memory of Stephen Berstler and Paul Heembrock. The proceeds of the race will continue to fund the memorial scholarships in their names, Project Graduation, Community Night Out and new recreational projects for the benefit of the Township. This race is in memory of Margaret Walling, a  young Hackettstown resident who lost her battle with a malignant brain tumor in December of 2013 after a brave and vailant fight.  Smiles For Margaret gives money raised to families with children fighting cancer. Smiles for Margaret is continuing to raise funds in Margaret's memory in order to help other local families whose children have also been diagnosed with life cancers. On Monday June 23rd 2008, Greg gave his life serving his country during combat operations in Salman Pak, Iraq. Always with a smile on his face, Greg touched the lives of others through his everyday actions and genuine kindness. Whether with family, friends, or co-workers, Greg always found a way to make people feel special and important. Greg has always been a hero to his family, demonstrating how others are supposed to be treated and how to love unconditionally. Proceeds from this event are used for scholarships in Seton Hall University’s School of Diplomacy, and for a donation to The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

The Chris Conway Memorial Run & 1 Mile Walk Presented by All Schools Special Needs Join us in honoring the life and legacy of Chris Conway at this special community event. Proceeds benefit All Schools Special Needs, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Ridgefield Park. Their mission is to provide vital resources—such as physical and medical equipment, educational supplies, technology, field trips, and more—to the special needs population of Ridgefield Park. Many of these opportunities would not normally be attainable due to cost or availability, and we are proud to support this organization that does so much for these children. Our rolling course provides an excellent second half of the race with a downhill finish to the track!
