OUTLAST PITTSBURGH

Gibsonia, PA
What Is OUTLAST? OUTLAST is a 6-hour trail endurance challenge where runners complete a 5K every hour, on the hour. Each lap must be finished within the hour to stay in the event. If you finish early, you rest until the next round. Miss a lap, and you’re out. Complete all six rounds, and you OUTLAST. This isn't just about speed — it's about pacing, discipline, and mental grit. Whether you're trying to survive all six or win your division, the challenge is the same: show up each hour, push your limits, and stay in it. Each course is trail-based, with natural terrain, elevation, and unpredictable conditions. You’ll have time between rounds to recover, refuel, and refocus — but not much. What You Earn: 4 laps = “Grit Earned” patch 5 laps = “Survivor” patch 6 laps = Premium “OUTLAST” medal All participants receive a premium OUTLAST Tee. Top male and female with the fastest combined 5K times at each event win the 1st Place OUTLAST award. Finishers are ranked on the national leaderboard—and the fastest runner across all OUTLAST 6-hour events (including the Championship) will be crowned National Champion and take home a cash prize of $1,000. The top 5 Male and Female 6-hour champions from each city will earn a spot in the Outlast Championship in DFW December 4 2027, where they’ll compete against the best of the best at the end of the Tour, and the 1st-3rd place male and female winners of the Championship take home a cash prize, listed below. (This is separate from the national leaderboard prize money.) 1st place = $1,200 2nd place = $800 3rd place = $500 Frequently Asked Questions: Do I have to run all 6 laps? Nope. Run as many as you can. If you complete 4 or 5, you'll still earn a patch. Only those who finish all 6 get the OUTLAST medal and leaderboard ranking. What happens if I don’t finish a lap in time? You're out. The next lap starts at the top of the next hour, and only those who completed the last lap on time can continue. How is the race timed? Each 5K is timed individually. If you complete all 6, your combined time counts toward the local win and national leaderboard. Are these trail races or road? Every OUTLAST race is on trail terrain — dirt, rocks, roots, and elevation. Sometimes some pavement and gravel. Can I walk? Yes, as long as you finish the 5K within the hour. But some courses are rugged, and time can sneak up on you. Are there aid stations? Yes. There will be water, basic hydration, and snacks at the basecamp/loop start. This is a cupless event — bring your own bottle or hydration system. What should I bring? Trail shoes, hydration system, layers (weather dependent), fuel between laps, and grit. Can I setup a tent? Absolutely, bring your own aid station/tent setup. Is OUTLAST for beginners? Yes — if you're mentally tough. You don’t need to be fast, just consistent and ready to suffer a little. How do I win? If you finish all 6 laps and have the fastest combined time, you win your division (male/female). Winners are also added to the national leaderboard for a shot at the $1,000 national prize & title.

Worlds End Ultramarathon

Forksville, PA
One of the toughest and most beautiful courses you’ll find anywhere! The Worlds End Ultramarathon is a challenging foot race that explores the Loyalsock Trail, Loyalsock State Forest and Worlds End State Park in the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania. The routes are largely rugged, scenic-dense single-track trails with some fairly remote sections, several waterfalls and multiple vistas of the beautiful Endless Mountains. The PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources describes Worlds End State Park as "virtually in a class by itself, this wild, rugged and rustic area seems almost untamed." This is NOT a beginner-level ultra and participation in the race should not be taken lightly. 100k Course Description The course is predominantly rugged single-track that winds it's way through the the Endless Mountains in the Loyalsock State Forest and Worlds End State Park. Your effort will reward you with beautiful overlooks such as High Rock Vista, Canyon Vista, Upper and Lower Alpine View, Kettle Creek Vista, and High Knob Overlook along with spectacular cascades and falls like Double Run, Dry Run, Rode Falls and Lee's Falls in the Ketchum Run Gorge, just to name a few. You'll pass many interesting rock formations like Split Rock, take in the tranquility of Sones Pond and climb a wooden ladder along side Rode Falls. You may even see a bald eagle soar beside you as you traverse the rocky ledge of trail that overhangs the Loyalsock Creek. This course can be described as "hilly" or "rolling" with it's steepest sustained climb only being about 1,000 rocky feet. The deceptive part is that there is a never ending supply of shorter climbs that the trail throws at you to give an unexpected overall elevation gain of about 12,000 feet. Combine this with the often rock strewn, technical trail along with the number of times you'll stop to take in the scenery, and you'll quickly realize this isn't a course you'll try to set any personal records on. The race was designed around the famed Loyalsock Trail but to complete the loop back to Worlds End State Park, you'll spend plenty of time exploring side trails of equal beauty. The course runs deep in the Pennsylvania hills with rocky hollows, diverse forests, narrow gorges and endless views - enough eye candy to keep you busy for your entire run. But don't linger too long at any one place, you only have 19 hours to complete this race. Make no mistake, this race is intended to grind you down over the long haul. Luckily, we'll take care of you with 13 aid stations along the way. Not only will you see the usual ultra spread, expect to see delicious fresh fruit, bacon, and a plethora of other delicious treats to keep you moving to the finish line. You'll also have 4 aid stations that will be crew accessible and 3 locations to pick up and swap pacers from. **The Worlds End 100k is also part of the Pennsylvania Triple Crown of Mountain Running series. These races showcase the best of Pennsylvania’s ultra mountain-running scene and celebrates the wild beauty of these rugged old mountains, and the vibrant trail-running culture that thrives in them. Do you have what it takes to tame the wilderness races of PA?** 50k Course Description If you are not ready to tackle the full 100k but still want to take in the beauty of Worlds End, you can still challenge yourself with the 50k course. The race follows the same route as the 100k but veers off to bring you home before the start of the lower loop. While only half the distance and half the elevation (5,800 feet), it's still chock full of fabulous scenery and awesome trails. We also give you a more generous time limit of 12 hours to complete the course. Now don't let the distance fool you, the 50k will grind you down over the long haul too. Luckily, we'll take care of you with 6 aid stations along the way. You will you see the usual ultra spread, but also delicious fresh fruit, bacon, and a plethora of other delicious treats to keep you moving to the finish line. No aid station is crew accessible and no pacers are permitted in the 50k race. Post Race After you survive Worlds End, hang around to enjoy the post race food and explore the state park. We will have a smorgasbord of homemade soups, chili, pulled pork and burgers - whether a meat lover, vegetarian, or vegan, our spread will have an option for you. And while it may not look like the fanciest of feasts, we're sure you'll vote it top of the list for best post race food around. We will also have a relaxing atmosphere to help you unwind after your hard effort on the trails.

Race Distances: 300-yard outdoor pool swim 15-mile rolling bike ride (open roads) 5K flat out-and-back run Course Maps Who Can Register? Individual athletes (ages 12 and up) Relay teams (2–3 people) Athletes under 18 will need a parent/guardian signature and must be able to complete the full course distance. We’ll go over course details, transitions, gear prep, and provide short demos on transition setup and basic bike maintenance. Bring your questions and your bike! New for 2027: Age Group & Relay Starts As race day approaches, each age group will be assigned: A corral timeA start time Age groups & Relay Participants will be seeded based on estimated 300-yard swim time 5 seconds apart with a 2 minute break between age groups. This format not only creates a more competitive and engaging race experience—especially as a USAT National Qualifier—but also helps reduce crowding on the pool deck and improves overall flow. We expect the start process to remain smooth, with a similar cadence to past years and only minimal breaks between groups. As race day approaches, each age group will be assigned: a corral time (corralling will happen in the front parking lot of the pool area) The ‘corral ladies’ will be holding signs with the current age groups ‘on deck’ and then will be walking each age group on deck in order of their bib number to receive their chip timing device and then line up for the start. It is important that athletes line up with the ‘corral ladies’ in order of your bib number within their correct age group. Bib number is how we sorted estimated swim finish time. If there is a gap, meaning bib numbers 1, 2, & 4 are present and bib number 3 is missing bib number 4 should collect the chip timing device labeled 4 and there will be an extra 5 second gap between athlete 2 & 4. The chip timing company will be in charge of starting each athlete, but athletes should make sure their bib number MATCHES their chip timing device. We will be corralling 3 age groups at time, but this will move very quickly. There will only be a 2 minute gap between each age group. Age groups will be seeded by fastest expected swim finish time and will be mixed male & female. There will be a separate corral for relays. Spectators are encouraged to cheer for their athletes on pool deck only when their athlete is being ushered in. No athletes or spectators are allowed to enter the pool deck through the race course, they MUST enter in through the locker room/ main entrance. Once their athlete is finished swimming we ask that spectators move towards transition area or bike course to continue cheering and make room for other spectators to cheer on deck. Hampton Rotary Firecracker 5k Run / 1M Walk

Allison Park, PA
Come join the Hampton Community in Hampton Community Park (3101 McCully Road, Allison Park, PA.) for the 20th Annual Hampton Rotary Club Firecracker 5K on Saturday, July 4, 2026, 8:30 am, on the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This is a Hampton tradition and a great Family event. Our challenging 5K run/walk or scenic 1M walk both route Hampton's newly improved Community Park. There's a t-shirt give away and participation medals for both the walk and the run with awards for overall and age group winners by gender. Funds raised from this event support various educational and charitable activities sponsored by the Hampton Rotary Club. We deliver meals on wheels, provide high school and tech school scholarships, and at least on yearly project (like providing fresh dairy to those with food insecurity). Check out our donations page for more info.
