Black River RAT RACE 2026

The money raised from the Rat Race will now go right back to BR athletics in attempts to improve our athletic facilities, keep highly qualified coaching staff, provide equipment for our athletes, provide an athletic trainer at all home events as well as help cover the cost for opportunities for our athletes to improve their skills and abilities outside the typical season.  This is a fundraising event so in efforts to keep cost low this will not be a chipped event. Chad was an avid runner and a youth leader in many ways. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, runners and ruckers will take on the challenge of racing from Lake Huron in Harbor Beach to Saginaw Bay in Caseville in the 50 Mile division—or team up with friends for the 50 Mile Relay. The 50K features a flat out-and-back course starting and finishing in Caseville. Join us on a Sunday afternoon for an early season 5K run and one mile walk.  This is a family-friendly community event to celebrate health, wellness, and physical fitness.  The 5K course is USATF certified and endorsed by the Governor's Council for Physical Fitness through the Michigan Fitness Foundation. The Derek Dexter Memorial 5K
