The Winner's Circle Running Club hosts the 2026 Santa's Toy Trot on Sunday 12/13/2026 beginning at 10:00 A.M..  Participants have the option to run 2,4 or 6 miles.  The race starts at the Sweetsir School in Merrimac, MA. Participants run a 2-mile loop that starts and finishes at the school.  The two mile loop allows runners to decide whether or not they want to stop or keep on going to complete 4 or 6 miles.  Strategy is key!!!  The run is chipped timed with Male/Female overall awards in each distance followed by age group awards (10 year age group). Starting at age 60, age groups are 5 year age groups until 90+!!!, and prizes will be awarded two deep. About the Program NOTE: ALL Sprint teams are FULL. There are is still space on all Distance teams. The Needham Track Club Winter Track Program is open to children age 6.5-14. The program meets on Sundays from December 13, 2026 – March 7, 2027 at Babson College in Wellesley. There are two sessions to choose from: 9:15 - 10:20 am and 10:45 - 11:50 am. Children choose a sprint team or a distance team. The weekly sessions include warm up, stretching, running drills, sprinting and distance training, hurdles, technique building and warm down. Children are placed in teams where they remain for the entire session. The season tuition includes an NYTC Winter Program T-shirt, and all sessions. The times and dates are subject to change depending on Babson’s game schedule.

Walter’s Run 5k takes place on Sunday December 13th, 2026 in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. Hosted by Parkway Running Club, Walter's Run is in its 32nd year and is one of Boston’s best holiday races. Walter's Run offers fun for running clubs and families so bring the entire crew on race day. Starting and ending at the Parkway Community YMCA, Walter’s Run 5k is a rolling route thru the West Roxbury. Our accurate wheel-measured course is USATF sanctioned. The 2026 Beantown Winter Classic will take place at the TRACK at New Balance on December 19–20. This NFHS-sanctioned event is designed predominantly for high school athletes of all ability levels, with select club and unattached events available. Competitors will enjoy a professionally organized, high-level meet at one of the premier indoor facilities in the world. Top performers will earn medals, and all athletes will have the opportunity to kick off their winter season against strong competition. Additionally, we will kick off both days of action with Open/All-Comers "Santa Miles" for runners of all ages and abilities—a fun way to race at the TRACK and celebrate the holiday weekend in style. Start the New Year at the 12th Annual First Day 5K taking place on Friday, January 1, 2027 beginning at 11:00am. The race takes place from the Sandwich Recreation Department @ Oak Crest Cove located at 34 Meetinghouse Lane in Sandwich, MA. Race proceeds benefit the Sandwich Recreation Department's Jan Souza Memorial Scholarship Fund providing assistance to families to utilize the services and programs offered at the recreation department.

Race field will be capped at 300 runners- sign-up early so you don't miss out on this great race! USATF Certified Fast and flat 5K course on closed roads! Start with a downhill running start on Main St just west of Whitin Community Center at Grove St before going through Memorial Square onto Linwood Ave. Take a quick spin into the Northbridge High School parking lot before continuing out Linwood Ave and turning around at the Linwood Mill (New China Pacific restaurant). Then it's a straight shot back to the finish line at Memorial Square on Linwood Ave. Registration includes a custom hat (for 1st 225 registered), pizza and a beer ticket post-race at the Gray Barn. Trials of Miles is excited to host a special night of racing at the TRACK at New Balance on January 9, 2027. The event will feature heats of the 1 mile, 800 meters, and the 5k (the 5k will have a time standard of 21:00 or faster)! The Great Stew Chase is a 15-kilometer road race held annually in Lynn, Mass. organized by the Wyoma Lions Club. The race is the third oldest 15K in the US, having started in 1975. The 51st event will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2027. Most run the full 15K at 10:00AM. Two alternatives are offered. One is a 9:30AM start for slower runners and the second is a 2 person relay with each person running half the distance starting at 10:00AM. Course Limit is 2 Hours.

The annual South Boston St. Patrick’s Day / Evacuation Day Parade is a celebration of Irish heritage in recognition of the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, as well as to recognize Evacuation Day and the service of the men and women of the United States Armed Services. Since 1901, the parade has only been possible through the generous contributions of friends, family, and the community. Without the participation of organizations like yours, none of this is possible. As a small, self-supporting non-profit organization, the South Boston Allied War Veterans Council relies heavily on your help.
