We are excited to be back for our 12th race! Our 5K runs are mission and family focused.  We can't wait to see familiar faces, along with many new faces on April 4, 2026. We are back with the start line in the Village of Cartersville. Proceeds from this year's race will benefit missions of Cartersville Baptist Church--our youth group and missionaries. This year not only will we have our traditional 5K race through our beautiful quaint village of Cartersville, but we will feature a kids fun run!! The Kids Run is for 10 years old and younger. Participants in this age group can register to do both the kids mile run and 5K, but must register for both to place in either race.

The Great American Ride is a 3,700-mile virtual team bike ride along the route of the Great American Rail-Trail™, a developing trail that is more than 54% complete and will one day connect over thousands of miles and 12 states between Washington State and the District of Columbia. We’re combining the camaraderie of team cycling with the fun and sightseeing of a long-distance solo ride. The #GARIDE is a journey that you can experience from whatever corner of the world you call home.  Gather your team of 4, 8, or 12 riders and chip away at the miles as a group. At the end of each day, you’ll report your progress and watch your team dot move across the map in real time while the race leaderboard will update to show the overall standings! And to make the miles even more fun, we’ll send you facts and highlights about the locations you ride past along the way.

The Bull Run Run is a 50 mile trail run within a linear park that generally parallels the Occoquan River and the famous Bull Run in southern Fairfax County, Virginia. It traverses a forested, rolling terrain during the height of the state's spring beauty. The run’s unique character includes a Civil War theme that honors the battles that occurred here over 150 years ago. A highlight of the race course are the stretches that take the runners through the largest bluebell stands on the East Coast. The 2026 race will be the 32nd running of this classic event.

Join James City County Parks & Recreation in the sixth annual Bike the Bridge event taking place Saturday, April 4 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. The route will start in James City County, cross the Chickahominy River and enter into Charles City County along the Virginia Capital Trail.  Routes options include 15, 25 and 50 miles. Parking, rider check-in and lunch will be located at Jamestown Beach Event Park, 2205 Jamestown Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Light refreshments, event t-shirt and lunch are included with rider registration. 50-Mile Route Check In: 8-9 a.m. 25-Mile Route Check In: 8:30-9:30 a.m. 15-Mile Route Check In: 9:30-10 a.m. *There are no bike restrictions for this ride, however, please abide by the Virginia Capital Trail rules and regulations which can be found here: www.virginiacapitaltrail.org/trail-rules

A Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix, Hampton Road Super Grand Prix event. This will be an in-person event limited to 250 participants. All proceeds benefit the Colonial Road Runners Scholarship Fund. The race is held in memory of Michael Mann, Tom Ray and Joe Harney. This is the 30th annual race starting in New Quarter Park. A flat out-and-back course with loop into Queens Lake residential neighborhood. Tranquil, scenic woodland setting along asphalt paved roads near the Colonial Parkway, in York County. One of the fastest courses in the Williamsburg area and is USATF certified (VA20004RT). Please see Race Map tab above for course map and video. Race day registration is available from 7:30-8:45.

This race uses part of the Hellgate 100k course (miles 47-52 but in reverse, which is, by far the better direction).  It’s a great backcountry section of the Glenwood Horse Trail that goes between Bobletts Gap Road and the Bearwallow Trailhead.  Due to parking limitations, this event will be capped at 100 vehicles and we’ll be shuttling racers to the start, 4.1 miles away. The course will climb approximately 1 mile on a dirt road before climbing, steeply for .3 miles, onto the Glenwood Horse Trail.  You will be on the GHT for the remaining 5 miles to the finish.  This is a great trail that travels past many old mines.  It’s an up and down route until the last 1.5 miles that will have you screaming down one of the best sections of trail.  Beware the rock gardens at the 5 mile mark of the course. Make sure you carpool when you can and park closely to the person next to you.  The park has limited parking. * In the event of inclement weather, this race may be run as an out and back.

Looking for a fun, slightly ridiculous, definitely memorable running challenge? You’ve found it! The Sheetz-to-Sheetz Trail Run is a 14-mile, untimed point-to-point adventure benefiting local kids and other worthy causes. We start at one Sheetz, wind through farmland and forest, and finish at another Sheetz. Most of the route follows the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail (DRHT), a flat, scenic rails-to-trails gem. Shuttle buses haul runners from the finish area and event parking in Dahlgren to the start line, so you only have to run one direction — forward. While we hand out cool awards for our top overall and Masters (50+) finishers, the real prize is the experience: quirky aid stations stocked with pie, s’mores, Peeps, soft pretzels, and other culinary curveballs you won’t find at Boston or Berlin. Join Partners in Health Engage at UVA to raise money for Tuberculosis in Sierra Leone! Tuberculosis is a curable disease, yet every year millions of people die worldwide because they do not have access to treatment. In particular, Sierra Leone has been subject to a history of exploitation, leading to poor health outcomes to this day. Our club has pledged to raise $4500 this year to support PIH's tuberculosis programs in Sierra Leone. This will assist Partners in Health in supplying treatment courses for TB, chest x-rays for diagnosis, nutritional support for patients, among other things. If you are on board, come run (or jog, wog, or walk!) with us on 4/4 at 9 AM. We have tons of prizes for top finishers and raffle winners from local businesses, so we hope you will join us for a morning of fun fighting TB! Remote Area Medical (RAM) at UVA is excited to announce the fourth annual RAM @ UVA 5K on Sunday, March 30, 2025! RAM is a nonprofit organization that provides free healthcare to those in need through mobile clinics offering medical, dental, and vision services to underserved and uninsured individuals. Since it was founded in 1985, RAM’s Corps consists of more than 212,000 volunteers. Licensed dental, vision, and medical professionals at these clinics have treated more than 940,000 individuals, delivering more than $200 million worth of free care. Pacers Kids Club is an after-school running program for 3rd through 5th grade boys and girls designed to introduce kids to the joy of running, movement, and teamwork. The Van Metre 5K Run was established in 1992 to benefit Children's National Hospital. The event includes a One Mile Fun Run/Walk inviting everyone from serious runners, occasional joggers, and walkers of all skill levels to participate. To date the Van Metre 5K Run has raised over $3.5 million dollars in support of Children's National. Race day activities include an interactive warm up for the kids, arts and crafts and face painting. The New River Trail Races are 100% dirt, flat, and entirely along the New River and Chestnut Creek in the New River Trail State Park. Each distance is an out and back course. Come out and enjoy our second annual 5K around the scenic property of Southern Heritage Farm organized by Southern Fauquier Ruritan Club! 3.12 miles of wooded trails, bridges, horses, chickens, and cows! 2-3 water stations will be provided throughout the course. Ruck Hunger 2026 is a team-based charity ruck march organized by Honor Bound FIT to directly support the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank and combat food insecurity in our local community. Teams will collect shelf-stable food donations in advance and physically ruck those donations over a prescribed 3-mile route from the launch location to the food bank. Participants may complete the route multiple times throughout the day, carrying as much food as they are able, transforming physical effort into immediate, measurable impact for families in need. This is more than a single march—it is an endurance-based service event rooted in accountability, teamwork, and community action. Teams of ruck participants and support members will work together to deliver the greatest total weight of donated food, with recognition awarded to the top-performing team. The Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association, Visit SoSi, The Danville Running and Fitness Club, and Danville Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce the 17th Annual Bridge2Bridge 5K Walk, 5K Run, 10K Run, Kids Fun Run, and a Half Marathon. Virtual options are also available. Since our inception, Bridge2Bridge Danville has raised over $1,140,000 which benefits cancer patients within Danville and Pittsylvania County. In 2025, over 1000 individuals participated in this event which allowed Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer to help many local cancer patients with medications, wigs, travel expenses and more. Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer is a local 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides assistance to cancer patients by providing travel reimbursement, prescriptions, nutrition, medical supplies and equipment, prostheses, and wigs, as well as emotional, and educational support.

Stacey's Run is a 5K race which takes place at the beautiful Gypsy Hill Park in Staunton VA. This annual event will take place on April 11, 2026, with a 1/2-mile Fun Run and the 5K beginning promptly at 10:00AM. This is always a fun- filled event with spectacular surroundings such as the Duck Pond, miniature train, baseball fields and playgrounds. At the conclusion of the 5K there will be door prizes, trophies and awards. Light refreshments will also be available. The proceeds from this event goes to the DeHaven Fund which awards annual scholarships to students with financial need pursuing college degrees. Gather your family and friends and join us for a day of fun! Join us for the 6th annual Hanover Airpark 5K!  The race will start with a pop at 9:30AM - with staggered start times for runners, walkers, kids and strollers. Friends, family and coworkers can cheer on the racers from our "Fan Zone". Top finishers will be adorned with applause and awards. Join us on April 11, 2026 for the annual Members Banquet of the Shenandoah Valley Runners. The banquet will be once again be held at the Millwood Station Banquet Hall at 252 Costello Dr in Winchester.  Doors open at 4pm with food served at 5pm and presentations starting at 5:30pm. The event is expected to conclude before 9pm.  Registration for the banquet is only $1 though it is restricted to active club members. If you have family or friends that would like to join you at the banquet they will need to establish a club membership and register for the event. Fortunately, the annual club membership is only $15 for individuals ($10 for students). At the banquet the club President will give members a "State of the Club" update, we will hear presentations from featured speaker Lindsey and Zach Rambo from Achilles International, and the club will present several awards.  Awards will include  Winter Series overall and age group Winter Series Perfect Attendance Runners of the Year

In 2012, Emily lost her sister, Courtney, to suicide. Courtney struggled with self-harm and eating disorders for many years, and despite her family's best efforts to support her, they couldn't find a way to help. For a long time after her death, Emily and her family struggled to talk about what happened, as the stigma surrounding mental health prevented her from sharing the impact it had on her family. Now Emily shares her story without the fear of being judged or looked down upon. Losing her sister to suicide is a part of her — one she no longer carries with shame or guilt. Emily is now using her voice to show others it is okay to speak out

The run/walk will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 on the campus of Stafford Hospital and is part of the Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix, a series of twelve races that take place in our region, and the Stafford Race Series, a set of five races to promote community engagement and wellness activities in the county. Welcome to the Spring 2026 Fit 5 Season! We are excited to welcome you to the Fit 5 Family! Fit 5 Runners is a program founded and run by certified educators who are also USATF-level track coaches. This is a professionally run program and not volunteer-based. Sessions will take place on most (but not all) Saturdays from 9:15–10:15 a.m. at the track at Gainesville Middle School. Scheduled Meeting Dates:April 11, 18, 25May 9, 16, 23, 30June 13, 20 No Sessions: May 2 and June 6 Most Saturdays will be practice-focused and include running drills, skill development, games, and instruction aligned with our five core standards. Select Saturdays will be designated as race days. A detailed weekly schedule will be emailed in advance to assist with planning. 10:00 am (9:30 am early start). 9th Annual Union Half Marathon and Relay will start at the Visitor Center in Big Stone Gap, VA. The course will utilize the paved Greenbelt Trail in Big Stone and then unite with the Powell River Trail in Appalachia, VA. Participants will be able to go through the two old train tunnels that make up the Powell River Trail. All completing participants will receive a unique finisher’s medal and a race t-shirt. 2-4 Person Relay option.
