2026 Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Half Marathon and Fall 5K

In 1913, John Rockefeller Jr. built a series of carriage roads so he could avoid cars in the Acadia National Park. Nine miles of the Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Half Marathon run on that still-existing system of hard-packed trails. The hilly course starts in the small, picturesque fishing town of Bar Harbor, then cuts into the National Park. Dense forest engulfs runners as they cross several old granite bridges before looping back to town. The Farm To Farm Ultra Run is held on a looped course in Freeport, Maine on the Wolfe's Neck Center & Freeport Conservation Trust trails, but also includes four virtual options: 5 miles, 10 miles, 30 miles, and 50 miles. This event is part of the Maine Track Club Grand Prix Series, and participants are allowed to earn points for one virtual event in addition to or instead of the in-person race. If you intend to do both in-person and virtual, you must register separately for each event. The 26th Annual North American Wife Carrying Championship® returns to Sunday River on Saturday, October 10, 2026, as part of our Fall Fest weekend. It’s weird, wild, and wildly entertaining—this one-of-a-kind event draws competitors and spectators from across the globe to see who has what it takes to carry their partner to victory. Teams race on foot through a 278-yard obstacle course that includes log hurdles, a sand trap, and the fan-favorite “Widow Maker” water hazard. The fastest two teams from the qualifying rounds will advance to a final heat to compete for the championship title—and some pretty quirky prizes, including the wife’s weight in beer and five times her weight in cash. Moosehorn Ghost Run Half-Marathon and Relay

Event Description  The beauty of Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge awaits! Run 13.1 miles solo or as relay with friends through the refuge access road system. Come out and explore your refuge! Wildlife is abundant. Have your camera ready! Deer, Moose, Bear, Grouse, and many bird species could certainly be spotted.  Moose and deer, oh MY!  The course will take place all within the Moosehorn service road system!  Car-free, dirt roads and possible wildlife encounters are features of this unique half-marathon. Holistic Hustle 5K/10K

Please join us at the beautiful Emmons Preserve in Kennebunkport for the 4th Annual Holistic Hustle. There will be music all morning with a timed 5K and 10K run/walk and a kids 1/2 mile fun run and all participants will receive a unique wood burned finishers medal! Consisting mostly of paved footpaths, this stunning course takes you over bridges, into the park, along the river and through the woods before finishing just past the historic mill. The 3.14 mile "Pi" run begins and ends in front of NYA's lower school. 13th Annual Wells Veterans Day 5K

The Wells Chamber of Commerce is hosting our 13th Annual Wells Veterans Day 5k.  Proceeds will once again benefit Honor Flight Maine.  Run (or walk) your own 5k (3.1 miles) on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The cost to enter is $20 (adults 18+), $15 (students 11-17) and kids (10 and under) are free (RunSignUp fees are extra).  As in past years, the first 100 paying registrants will receive a men's long-sleeve t-shirt. The details on the original race route are posted below (under directions).  The start and finish is the Trailblazer's Family Club located at 102 Bills Lane in Wells.  The 5K loop takes you through beautiful, remote back roads of Wells.  The course is considered flat, which is great for those either looking to set a new PR and/or for first-time 5K'ers.
