Lake Casitas Short Course Championships is a high school level meet, home of the Ventura County Championship on the beautiful Lake Casitas Cross Country Course where many legends of the sport have run over the last 30 years. The middle school level race will return in 2026. This will be one middle school race with all genders and grades. Event Details: October 30th.  Friday pre-halloween Evening Run  We have partnered with the USS Hornet to bring back a super fun and unique race experience to Alameda. Our "day of the dead" Twilight Run we did a few years ago is back, just moving the date slightly to coincide with Halloween. The event will still benefit the USS Hornet Museum and will start at 6:30pm. Sunset is scheduled that evening for 6:12pm, so headlamps are recommended but we will have lights on the course.  Costume highly recommended and encouraged!  The run will take you for a scenic loop around Alameda Point, starting and finishing at the Pier. The 12th Annual Filthy 50+ will take you through various areas of San Dieguito River Park and Black Mountain Park. Fast and flowy for all skill levels. The 30 mile riders will head out and turn around at the 15 mile mark and the 50+ mile riders will continue on to the Black Mountain Park area where you will encounter a lollipop and new trails to go with it! The course will be fully marked with Pink Flags and Red Arrows. Fully stocked feed stations will be placed throughout the ride to keep you fueled up. There will be a kid’s ride supported by Team Quick n’ Dirty at 8:45am. Awards will be given out immediately following the kids ride. The little monsters (ages 10 and under) kick things off at 12:00 PM with the 400 m Zombie Zoom, a quick run perfect for our youngest ghouls. Then at 12:15 PM, the Monster Dash takes off with your choice of a timed 5K or 10K. Whether you're chasing a personal record or just out for a haunted good time, there's a distance for every runner. Costumes are encouraged, so come dressed to scare! Run fast! The first 100 finishers will take home a custom race medal, so don't get caught dead at the back of the pack. Note: High schoolers in full monster costumes will be chasing and scaring during the 5K and 10K race. Options to not be chased.

Come celebrate Día De Los Muertos (Day Of The Dead) and run a 5k race.    5k run/walk starts 9am on Saturday October 31st, 2026. All levels are welcome, it is a fully paved path, strollers are welcome. Packet Pick up is Saturday October 31st 7am-8:45am at North Natomas Regional Park (Same location as the race). All participants will receive a t-shirt and sticker with registration, top 3 in each age group and top 3 over all in male and female categories will receive ribbons.   The race will be held at North Natomas Regional Park, it is a flat course held on the sidewalk which is a loop around the entire park. The Foothill Cross Country Team is putting on a 5K race at Hart Park on October 31st. There will be 3 races taking place: a High School Girls Race, a High School Boys Race, and an All Ages Race. Every Person who signed up for the all ages race will receive a medal and a T-Shirt to commemorate the race. The top 10 for both High School races will also receive a medal. There will be food and drink vendors on location as well as a trunk or treat for the kids. Please bring your families out to participate in this fun-filled day!

This isn’t a traditional fun run—and it definitely isn’t a traditional Halloween party. On Saturday night, October 31, Restless Soles brings running and live DJ music together for an entirely different kind of night out at CrossFit Sweat Shop in Walnut Creek. Four runs will start at the top of four consecutive hours. At each start, choose between a 1-mile loop or a 1.5-mile loop, then return to the Sweat Shop to hang out, recover, and enjoy live music before the next round begins. Complete all four rounds for a total of four to six miles—or participate in as many rounds as you’d like. We encourage everyone to experience the full night, but the format is intentionally flexible. Between runs, a live DJ will keep the music going throughout the evening. Run, return, catch your breath, spend time with the crowd, and get ready to lace up again at the top of the next hour. 2026 Optimism Cal Tri Newport Dunes - 11.1.26. Started in 1978 as the Human Race Triathlon, Cal Tri Newport Dunes is the longest running triathlon in the world operating from the same location. Also started in 1978 was the Ironman World Championship Triathlon Oahu but it moved to Kailua-Kona, Hawaii in 1981. This serves as the Cal Tri Events National Championship Race with registration in the 1500-2000 range. 12 EVENT OPTIONS. 6 Olympic distance events (Triathlon, RunBikeRun, SwimBike, SwimRun, 1640 Yard Swim & 10K Run) and 6 Sprint distance events (Triathlon,  RunBikeRun, SwimBike, SwimRun, 400 yard Swim & 5K Run).
