Haven Retreats is a registered 501(c)3 whose mission is to create sustainability for foster and adoptive families. Haven hosts therapeutic retreats and provides wrap-around services for these foster and adoptive caregivers throughout the year. Mote’s Run for the Turtles is a highly anticipated, sanctioned 5K that brings together more than 1,000 runners in support of Mote’s Sea Turtle Conservation & Research Program. Sand pine scrub, live oak, and cypress line the shore. Every repeat passes the pavilions, the water, and Southlake Overlook. Based on the original Backyard Ultra format created by Lazarus Lake, the rules are simple—but finishing is anything but. You must complete one 4.167-mile loop every hour on the hour. The Turtle Trot 5K is held at SunWest Park in Hudson. The course takes you on a paved hiking path around old salt mines. If you've never been to SunWest Park, you're in for a treat!  Participants may run or walk.   Packet Pickup is on Saturday morning from 6:30 am to 7:45 am. US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. This is a trail run through the beautiful woods of Colt Creek State Park.
