Annual Montebello Heritage 5K/10K Run along the historic Whittier Blvd. The 5k begins at 8:00 a.m. at Montebello City Park. All participants receive a shirt and medal.

Set PRs and qualify for the Boston Marathon on this fast, downhill course! Total net downhill loss for the marathon is 929 feet making it the PERFECT course to qualify on! Per official B.A.A. confirmation, there will be no time penalties assessed for this course. All races in 2026 will be Sunday, October 11. The marathon and 50K start at 8:00 AM at Mason Station Trailhead on McCoy Road with an out-and-back before jumping onto the Bizz Johnson Trail at Mason Station where the races travel through scenic Lassen National Forest. The first few miles of the course climb approximately 280 feet through the forest to Westwood Junction, then it’s downhill to the finish at Susanville, with a 1300-foot descent over the final 20 miles. The trail follows the route of the old Fernley and Lassen Branch Line of the Southern Pacific Railroad, built in 1914. Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. The 4th MPSF Open Water Swimming Championships will be contested Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Marine Stadium in Long Beach, Calif.  Be a part of the third intercollegiate conference championship in open water swimming.   The MPSF Championships in OWS could potentially lead to an NCAA Championship in the sport.  Open water swimming has been in the Olympics since 2008.  Alumni from institutions eligible for MPSF membership in OWS have participated in every one of these Olympic competitions and have medaled in both the men’s and women’s events.  The Marine Stadium will host Rowing and Canoeing during the 2028 Olympic Games.  Long Beach will also host the Open Water Swimming and eight other sports events for the 2028 Olympic Games.   The Open 5 Kilometer and 1 Kilometer Open Water Swim participants are encouraged to affiliate with the MPSF member institution that they swam collegiately for, currently attend or graduated from.  Don't forget to wear your team colors. The County of Santa Clara Reentry Resource Center and its partners are hosting a 5K run/walk to raise money to support the immediate needs of justice-involved people (clothing, food, hygiene, transportation, etc.). The in-person 5K will take place on Saturday, October 17th at Hellyer County Park with a race start time of 9:00AM. Participants who choose the virtual option can run or walk the race on the day and time of their choice between October 17, 2026, and October 31, 2026. Two-day adult sailing classes are offered most weekends from 9 am to 4 pm at Fiddler's Cove Marina. Classes are open to all eligible MWR patrons and sponsored guests. Minimum age requirement is 16 years or older with a parent or guardian.   **A minimum of 6 hours of sail time at the Intermediate level (Catalina Capri 22) is required post Intermediate sailing course.  Class fees per person vary by military affiliation and rank. Dependent fees are calculated at the sponsoring active duty or retiree rate. Pre-registration is required as classes can fill up quickly. Valley Health Foundation, in partnership with the County of Santa Clara Reentry Resource Center, is hosting a 5K run/walk to raise money to support the immediate needs of justice-involved people (clothing, food, hygiene, transportation, etc.). The in-person 5K will take place on Saturday, October 17th at Hellyer County Park with a race start time of 9:00AM. Participants who choose the virtual option can run or walk the race on the day and time of their choice between October 17, 2026, and October 31, 2026. The Ruck Challenge (TRC), now in its 10th Annual 10K 5K competition, aims to foster teamwork and camaraderie among veterans engaged in rehabilitative programs in our community. It challenges various agencies to compete in an event that tests endurance, strength, and strategy, all while honoring the sacrifices veterans have made in serving our country.

The cure for melanoma begins with me...and the Miles for Melanoma community coming together to run, walk and raise funds for the Melanoma Research Foundation.

The annual Springville Fat Tire Classic mountain bike race takes place on single track trails above Springville, CA.  There are King and Queen of the Hill contests.  Kids Race (11 years and younger) starts at 11:30 am.  Registration begins at 10:00 am.  NO ENTRY FEE for Kids Race is starting 11:00 am on-sight registration!  Must show up with parent or legal guardian to register.  Lots of prizes!!  Helmets required.  Race-day registration is available on site for all events.
